New Political Radio Show In Town

Just noticed an announcement in the Arcata Eye telling us our very own Hank Sims is starting off his own radio show, Humboldt Review, on KHUM tonight. Interesting we heard about it in the Eye and not in the blogosphere.

It gets even better: His show runs from 6 to 7pm and Eric's show, All Things Reconsidered, follows on KMUD from 7 to 8pm.

Boy, if everyone keeps starting up radio shows, will there even be a need for blogs?

  1. How right you are. I do remember when he posted that but, in my defense, Buhne hardly ever answers the questions he throws out at us and I gradually give up on following the comments on the thread.

So, I'll blame it on Buhne.

  2. Although I'll admit, he did name the show two days after his blind item. I just generally go back too far on his blog. Too much to there to keep track of.

What, no baseless insult against Hank from the fake blogger 'humboldt resident' who is in actuality the failed Advocate publisher Shawn Warford? He must be slipping to fall behind on his hate homework like this. He must be too busy calling Hoover a dog and defending Nick Bravo's latest stalking of local media figures.

  5. Charles douglas a media figure? LOL! Only thing on your precious sentinel Chuckie is a tabloidesque story on my spoof of a suicide call. Hell, if you thought that was real I'm either a better actor than I realized or your dumber than I thought...possibly both.

I too am going to start a radio show soon enough, and when I do I will shake Humboldt to its foundations.

  6. In other news, Congrats to Hank on starting a radio show. A well done one takes a great deal of preperation and whilst I disagree with Hank on just about everything I suopport his right to free speech.

Ah, Nicky. We were so hopeful... Since we know from your YouTube posts you're not a great actor, Charles must really be gullible.

I think Hank is now one of the most incisive commentators concerning the local scene. He started out kinda slow, parroting the Chamber party line but has since gained a fresh voice.

I don't agree with everything he sides with (particularly his endorsement of a particular appointee for Virginia Bass's council seat), but overall he reports the real ideology, personality, and ego disputes that are behind most local issues.

Derchoadus, Does it matter if Buhne or another blogger mentioned it first?

How do I get the podcast?

Is Hank Sims radio voice as annoying and unappealing as Eric Kirk's? Of course, Hank Sims is an annoyingly uniformed writer, so I guess that must count for something.

You're all missing out on the true temple of Hank Sims-bashing at what's happening humboldt the latest doomed creature of ex-Advocate slinger Shawn Warford, who was exposed by Sims for sending death threats to local journalists. Sims along with Kevin Hoover and Charles Douglas seem to be the primary targets of the Warford/Bravo team, with the usual slurs of "dogs in Arkley's kennel" which look even dumber now.

It's only interesting to you Nick Bravo. The rest of us are there to stop the war. You know, dead people, thousands of them? Is nothing sacred you little punk?

  22. H'mmmm quite the neurosis you have there...assuming all the Anons are me.

In regards to the war, I am looking at it from its beginnings. No, not the shock and awe crap. Further back, after WW2 when the U.N. Chopped Iraq into pieces without regard to its demographics. Also, add the sprinkling of fundamentalist Islam who desires Pan Global Islam. What most libs don't realize is that you will be the first to be beheaded if the fanatical muslims ever start car bombing this country. A hug and a cup of warm cocoa will NOT satisfy a bloodthirsty animal that has chosen to be less than human. I hate war as much as anyone, but sometimes its neccessary.

Nick, the League of Nations and the Brits created Iraq decades before the UN ever existed. Try reading sometime, it might help this ignorance problem you keep exhibiting.

  24. I was mistaken in regards to the specific political entity. Yet my point remains. Are you smart enough to comprehend my point??
