Trump Less Authoritarian Than Obama?
The National Review makes the case President Trump is less authoritarian than his predecessor, President Obama. I'm not sure about that but they do make a point:
"...if you peel back the layer of leftist critiques of Trump’s early
actions and early hires, they contain a surprising amount of alarmism
over the rollback of governmental power. Education activists are
terrified that Betsy DeVos will take children out of government schools
or roll back government mandates regarding campus sexual-assault
tribunals...."

Worried? Yes. There's already a pending bill -- HR 610 -- to eliminate Title I (poor school) funding in favor of a national voucher program. I hope I don't have to explain that vouchers have already been proven to be a failure in terms of improving student achievement. The only things they achieve is the closure of public schools and elimination of teacher unions, which is kind of their point... welfare for private schools.
And for good measure, HR 610 eliminates nutritional standards for student meals. It was just too troublesome to bother with being sure kids are fed fruits and vegetables and their meals were calorically appropriate for their ages.

Gee whiz, public schools and the system it caters toward has been broken, which has caused more parents to consider alternate platforms for education.
Too much gubbamint trying to make slaves outta children.
HR 610, like so many, is ineffective blind eye politics.
As if educators are forced to feed the students by hand to ensure fruits and veggies ate actually ingested as opposed to "tossed in the garbage".
Democrats don't like natural selection.......which is why they jump into our lives over every little thing that can be twisted into politics.
Wait until Trump has a political record before assessments on authoritarianism.........personally, the bullshit meter is in contagion mode, contango ........typical manifested set up for politics, no different than the stock market.

Obama and Clintons participated in authoritarianism in mandating Tom Perez for DNC......rigged or not, further evidence that Democrats understand a woman just can't pass muster at the highest level of politics when "she" tries to be a "he", as if transgendered politically.......it is deplorable.
All the Democrats did yesterday is elect as DNC chair the second coming of Howard Dean.......the yellng from city to city only missed the loud ending hoorah.......
The Democrats shifted more to the left, the far radical left.
What are the odds America is worse off in 4 years as Democrats and Republicans are submarining the country........
I tend to agree with 6:12. It's a ploy to get homeschoolers addicted to the grants, despite the awful strings attached to them.
Same with our cops. They want a new grant for off road vehicle. The grant comes with awful strings attached. "Feds and locals working side by side". No say for you dear Captain.
