Frost Is Here
Finally a halfway decent frost in Eureka. Not that I really look forward to it getting that cold but, if we get a good hard frost, it does knock back some invasive plants, like nasturtiums. This last frost doesn't look like it got cold enough,though.
I always find it interesting that the front and back sides of the house seem to be colder than one another. The back side, facing East, didn't seem all that cold when I got up this morning. The front side, facing West, seemed like it was FREEZING later on when I went to pick up the papers.
Funny how that works.

I'm surprised Fred?! No comment on the story of Worth Dikeman taking a new job? Gee Whiz, guess he wasn't such a bad guy afterall? With a complete background investigation he gets snatched up by El Dorado County, after turning down at least three other job offers. Do you think Gallegos could get a job with El Dorado County as a deputy DA? Hell no. How about Hugo Free? Hell no. How about Alan suspended Dollison? Hell no. Arny Klien? Hell no.
Gallegos has chased away, fired, or pissed off all the talent in the Humboldt DA's office. There are just a couple professionals left! How long will they last? Gallegos has gutted a professional DA's office with several talented "career" prosecutors and left the county with amatuers and fuck ups.
Well good for Dikeman and El Dorado County. This will be good for Dikeman's retirement as he will get a 20 to 35 % raise.
thank you Paul Gallegos, Ken Miller, Richard Salzman, and the rest of the gang. You've done sooooooooo much for Humboldt County !

What's there to say? Seems to me it was no surprise. I figured there'd be counties all over the state, and beyond, biting at the bit to hire him.
Getting back to the frost. Not my favorite. Can you imagine living in North Dakota?
