Pay Cut For The Governator?

I suppose we all do this, but we need to be careful when challenging people.

This gal asks the Governor what kind of pay cut he'll be taking after supposedly cutting back on state services due to budget problems. I understand that the Governator opted out of receiving a state salary since he's independently wealthy. He doesn't have pay to cut.

Maybe he will cut back on his security detail, and other "handlers" he may have working for him.

Better than taking a pay cut, maybe the Governor will stay at my house to prevent his newly-released burglars from stealing my possessions.

Guess she doesn't realize he already took an ENORMOUS pay cut just to BE governor. In his usual field, how many millions does he make per picture?

He doesn't take any money to be in office. Everybody forgets that he said he was going to give it all back into the money pool.

Rose, dear, he still gets all his residuals.

Of course he does, 11:36 dear. But he still 'took a pay cut' to do the job.

So does that mean that Gallegos took a pay cut as well since he could make much more as a practicing attorney?

Problem is, I'm not sure he did very well as a practicing attorney. At least that's the impression I've gotten.

That's probably because you hear so much about Gallegos from Rose.

Except for I think I heard murmurs of that some time before I knew who Rose was.

Must admit that was admirable of Arnold. I did not know that.

So does this mean it may be best if we simply fire all the politicians everywhere, hire famous actors instead? We could call it 'The Government Show' and run it 24/7 as a 'reality-based show?

Could they do any worse?

I am still waiting to see if Arnold is going to refund the money Darrel Issa (US Congress) spent to fund the recall of Gray Davis. Mr. Issa was intent on seeing th recall succeed, and then declare himself a candidate for the office. His tears at a press conference announcing he would not challenge Arnold are still a warm memory in my heart.

This is unlikely. Contrary to popular belief, attorneys have to work for a living.

Whoever wrote those words is a GENIUS, pure and simple. Let's find this genius and Make him King! Or, alternately, Let's Make her Queen!

This could be something:

The people of the Great State of California have done something unprecedented in the history of representational government. THEY HAVE FIRED all LEGISLATORS and THE GOVERNOR! In their place, several Hollywood Stars, past and present will run the state in one of the greatest Celebrity Reality Shows ever created.

...all we need is a name!

just a thought...

Thanks for calling me 'genius'- but my wife is still WAY smarter than me.
Actually, so are my cats....

Glad you liked the idea though.

As unreal as this country has become,
it seemed to make sense, as more people know what Britney is doing today than know (or care) who is running for office or whats happening to the environment....

To hell with the environment as long we know that Britney is in the hospital being berated by Dr. Phil.

Mresquan, Gallegos did not take a pay cut despite what he has said. After he got his Kush $100,000 plus per year job he upgraded to a newer, nicer home. He takes how many trips per year to Mexico and Hawaii ? And one can only imagine the "soft money" left over from his campaigns and the different perks or residuals he get's from his SoHum friends?

Our Governor is the best we've had since Dukmejean (sic). Ah the good old days.

yeah...I really get kinda tired of all those Hawaii trips and vacations me and all my neighbors are taking these days.......
I read Bush (just as an example, you understand..)has been -officially- on a vacation for 20% of his 'presidency'.

Have you, or any of your friends, been on holiday for 1 day out of 5?

Oh, I know-"But those pols, they have 'hard' jobs!" you say.

Yeah, pretty tough days they have, not like the 'easy' occupations we all have like, EMTs or cops, nurses and caregivers, truckdrivers, etc.
