Tea Party Patriots
The Times- Standard reports this morning the Humboldt Tea Party folks will be holding yet another one of their rallies. This time they're heading to Sacramento to protest out- of- control government and high taxes. This is good.
I just wonder where they were back during the Bush administration? I suspect, once the Republicans regain the White House, we'll not be hearing a word from the Tea Parties even though the stuff they're protesting now will continue after Obama is gone.
BTW; The Times- Standard article has the Humboldt Tea Party web site url slightly wrong. It ends with a .org rather than .com.

Indeed - the right-wingers are now standing on the corners and in front of local politico's offices protesting taxes, or something.
Although the war in Iraq is still going on and the war in Afghanistan has escalated, the 'ladies in black' and all the other anti-war protesters have vanished. Just as the Tea Party protests are about politics, the anti-war protests were also all about politics (not morality as they proclaimed).
And yet people still ask why Americans show so little interest in politics.
All the political talk on TV and Radio is blather. The people who run the country don't care what we think. They don't care about the Constitution. They only care about control.
Which is why America will never shake off the control of for-profit health insurance companies and institute a single-payer system that guarantees every American access to health care.
As a tea party patriot I can speak for many but not all patriots who gather to protest our government's lack of responsibility. We were not happy during the Bush Admin, we wrote letters, called our representatives, and were largely ingnored. This is not about politics, its protesting corruption....tyranny by our elected officials who think the people are subordinate to them! We all should be upset over this incredible debt, the over-reaching into all aspects of our life, and the freedoms we are losing at an ever increasing rate. Don't be fooled that this is a left/right argument, this is about the government being accountable to us. There are three branches of our government and they are attached to the tree which is WE THE PEOPLE!
Tea really is such a quaint drink.
