Suspend AB32 Petitions Available Online

AB 32 is the recently passed law that will require Californians to switch to a higher percentage of supposed "green power" sources in a few years. While there is a provision in the law for suspending it under certain economic considerations, no one in the legislature, including the Governor, has seen fit to take that route.

This petition would place an initiative on the ballot to suspend AB32 until unemployment drops to 5.5% (it's currently at over 12%). It's in .pdf file and prints on 8 1/2 x 11 paper so they're easy enough to print and fill out even if just for yourself. Deadline is April 15 so best get yours signed and sent in ASAP.

You can get the larger petitions that take more signatures by going to suspendab32.org.

AB 32 will have a positive impact on the economy, creating 10,000 new jobs in the next 10 years, according to an article in the Sacramento Business Journal.

Spain did something similar and they lost two conventional jobs for every "green" job they gained.
