Marijuana State's Rights Bill Introduced

Reason.com reports a Democratic congress gal from Colorado has introduced a bill to congress that will end conflicts between states that legalize marijuana and the Controlled Substances Act. H.R. 6606, the State's and Citizen's Rights Act of 2012 has only 9 co- sponsors, so far.

You may want to call our local congresscritter, Mike Thompson, and ask him to sign on. The phone number for his Eureka office is 269-9595. Personally, I don't think he'll do it, but I'll be glad to be proven wrong.

Thompson wanted to send the troops coming home from Iraq to the north coast to fight drug trafficking. Don't think he will be signing off on that one.

Thanks for this great heads-up Fred! I just emailed Congressman Thompson's office and am hoping for his opinion on HR 6606.

Calling Mike Thompson's office (actually, his bell boys and bell girls) is like talking through a cup and string line to someone down the street; heck, even the "glass to an ear" trick yields far greater results than 21st century technology, pffft. - HOJ

True, but I'm not sure this would change that. I don't think this would change the feds fight against foreign drug cartels, or anyone else not following state laws.

I wouldn't expect Thompson to see it that way, though.
