The Sequester: Calm Down

Some are saying lives will be lost because of the sequester, but Reason magazine points out there's no reason to kill yourself yet. Spending is still going up:

"Even with the sequester, the federal government is expected to spend more this year than it did last year. The government spent $3.5 trillion in 2012 and i expected to spend $3.6 trillion in 2013"

"Henchman Of Justice" says,

a buddy formerly resided in a home that had an underground bunker partly located under the public sidewalk that Eureka officials constructed without abandoning the bunker first. Now the portion of sidewalk is a sinkhole area because city officials did not want to get the job done right to begin with. Now, the city acts like it is all on the owner of property to repair. Ya see, public employees can't ever be in the wrong it seems, even from decades previous. Time is the "bandaid that conceals the damage and aids in who the accused shall be". - HOJ

Spending is not going up for Title 1 schools. Funding has been cut for the past several years. Projections indicate my school will be losing its librarian with this latest round of cuts. We're talking about the only source of reading for a great many kids whose parents do not take then to a public library. If it doesn't happen at school, it doesn't happen.
