Are We Hysterical...Or Not?

I was listening to National Public Radio yesterday afternoon- The World and All Things Considered being two of my favorite shows. I can't remember which show it was and can't find the transcripts online, but they had two segments that I found amusing to have back to back.

The first one was about the Boston bombing. They had a news gal explaining that Americans didn't seem to be reacting hysterically to this latest attack. There weren't groups calling out for action or more restrictions on our lives. Americans weren't going to be intimidated and would move on, living their lives as they always have.

Almost without pause they moved to the next segment about the failed gun control bill in the Senate- the bill that resulted from the Sandy Hook shootings. Everybody was supposedly outraged at its failure but the President wasn't going to give up on it. We need those laws to make the country safer and he wouldn't be taking no for an answer.

Hmmm???

Using gun victimization to disrupt the right to own a firearm is a tactic, but don't tell the victims surviving family members that because their emotions "cloud their constitutional judgement".

What is a firearm background check for? To see if the applicant/registrant is a "convicted felon"? Nowhere in the U.S. Constitution does it say that "rights are subject to background checks". - HOJ

I'm also curious as to why there were private military contractors all over the Boston maraton the fbi also interrogated the prime suspect in 2011 but let him go. Why did they not continually survey him and if they did why did they let him get away with it why are we spending untold millions of dollars on the DHS and letting our civil liberties be violated when in the end it was a citizen that found the guy and why did our president meet with the Saudi prince to discuss the deportation of one of the prime suspects who is set to be deported on Wednesday under national security and why were there loudspeakers anouncing security drills at the beginning of the race why why why fuck it weres my tinfoil

There's no disconnect. Gun laws have always been too loose. Poll after poll shows 80 to 90% of Americans support tighter gun control, but Congress is essentially controlled by a small special interest group promoting loosening of gun control laws. The gun massacre of the day is simply a poignant reminder that the gun laws need great reform.

It's not an overreaction to a particular massacre. The call for real gun control has been going on for decades.

Response: Dumbed-down Americans from excessive immigration that erodes values which leads to less pure nationalism because we should all know, America is "over-diversified". America is no longer a nation of immigrants when it has been a country for centuries. America is a nation where profiteers and tax collectors rule slaves through a scheme called economics. Economics was once used to keep the peace, but has morphed into slave driven practices and functions. When wealth can't be earned, it must be stolen! - HOJ

Response: Hmmm, don't ya mean centuries, which is why ownership of a gun is a right. The only control is the user, not the device or its ancillary components. Ironically, the latest so-called massacre entitled "Boston Marathon" had nothing to do with firearms, but homemade explosive devices. Seems that was what was reported. So, where are the countless CNN, NBC, CBS, FOX, NPR newscasts for decades claiming "gun control"? Time to compare for arguments that either have changed or are still rubbish. - HOJ

No one really cared about gun control unless it was cops complainin' of black inner city youths and gangs (can ya blame the cops?) or a guy named Brady, Reagan, etc...who gets shot because they are "high profile". No one ever really wanted meaningful discussions on "gun control" without using "papparazzi incidents" to use to advertize the melodrama.

Politicians are like that unfair teacher who is too uneducated or naive themself to know who did what and resorts to punishing the whole class for the conducts of less than a few.

America is no different than the scorned classroom from the viewpoint of its leader who abdicates responsibility to get to the bottom of the facts and truth. Clearly, being willfully blind is an easier lifestyle for many, at least until that lifestyle gets turned upside down, topsy turvy. - HOJ

It starts with gun control them pretty soon you want to start passing regulations to regulate the First Amendment too Its a self evident right that nobody can take away Along with life liberty and the pursuit of happiness that's what this nation was founded on people that don't like that should move to a different country thats either socialist communist or a monarchy...

The real answer to gun control is simple: don't sell to anyone of color

Blacks, Hispanics, etc. commit the majority of violent crimes in this country. We should be doing whatever we can to keep guns out of their hands.

Travis, "Deepthroat Six Clinton" played his part too. The shills (Many voters) deserve their misfortunes, but these shills dump their misfortunes upon everyone else. The two-party system is rife with "SHILL Voters". These voters make mistake after mistake after mistake, then, when calling for resolve, make more mistakes on resolve.

Really, the art of intelligence, common sense, rational dialect, etc...those days ARE OVER! Now, society must wait for destruction and rebirth. That will be the time to hold trial for the two-party system proponents and let them start at the bottom all-over-again, because that is what two-party system supporters are accomplishing! - HOJ

yup and all three of them including most of their cabinets just got indicted on war crimes whether or not they actually get prosecuted is a different story but they should be impeached jailed and technically under international law killed and it just so happens this was released to the public the day of the Boston Marathon bombing
