Petition Against New Law

Legislators in Washington State have proposed a new law that would supposedly allow authorities to arrest and charge protesters with "economic terrorism". There's an online petition to sign in opposition:

"The outrageous proposed bill would make any form of protest that causes an "economic disruption" a class C felony, punishable by up to 5 years in prison. It wouldn't just apply to people who engage in illegal acts or vandalism, it could be used to prosecute any person or group who organizes a protest that authorities deem as "disruptive." Broadly interpreted, this law could apply to time honored traditions of nonviolent dissent like boycotts and civil disobedience:

Not sure how accurate that description is. I'm hoping we're not saying it's ok to do anything so long as it's part of an act of civil disobedience. It seems to me we're getting closer and closer to that after hearing comments from people that protesters who block traffic and such should be excused because they're supposedly practicing free speech.

I'll sign the petition anyway and hope for the best.

Um, last time I checked, libertarians respected states rights. Are we meddling out of state now?

Scary subjective pick and choose, winners and losers, kinda attempt......Lots of people are within a protest no different than media, getting caught up in a crowd for a cop to "accidentally assume you are a protestor" seems to occur quite often.

State Rights are to be challenged when the federal constitution is violated.....Kinda like drugs🙈🙉🙊

Economic terrorism by gubbamint to cause economic slavery....Typical for a gubbamint to act in denial after the fact!

Some governments are trying to use this to prevent economic boycotts against the State of Israel. I remember when it was GOOD to boycott things from South Africa (no cheap South African Lobster tails!) but now boycotting a state whose policies we disagree with is economic terrorism? Or racist? My Jewish friends who oppose the policies in Israel don't consider themselves racist
I hope the petition comes to California

It's more BS for deleting more rights. They already passed an unconstitutional law a year or more ago that makes it a felony to protest anywhere near a federal employee, office, or security. Yet, the road blockers, town burning rioters, private property assaulters are called peaceful protestors by the same coniving legislators who created the last unconstitutional law. I haven't noticed any felony charges happening yet. They're waiting for the conservatives to ride into town with their petitions of grievances. Stay off the stairs, don't block that postal truck, take care to know who is within 250' of you lest a security agent is too close,
Think I'm kidding?
Think again.
HR347 plus another bill. http://krisannehall.com/hr-347s1794-a-trespass-on-the-first-amendment/
