Kuhnel Formally Announces

This just in (earlier this morning, of course) from the folks at Local Solutions:

Eureka Planning Commissioner, Ron Kuhnel, will formally announce his candidacy for 3rd Ward, Eureka City Council. The event should start, about the time I post this, at Eureka City Hall.

Certainly it's no surprise he's running, as that's been in the news for some time now. No surprise, either, that Local Solutions has sent out an announcement of his press conference. I think we've known all along he was going to be one of Local Solution's candidates in this election.

What surprises me is that Kuhnel is the only one, at least at this point in the game, that is openly tied to Local Solutions and the Anti- Arkley and Anti- Marina Center effort. I would of thought there'd be a few more obivious ones showing up by now.

Can't help but wonder if some candidates might make it a stealth issue and run on something else, their real reason for running being to shut down any competition for local businesses.

It will be interesting to see if Local Solutions backs any of the other contenders for the Eureka City Council race.

Let me warm up my crystal ball. I predict that Local Solutions is currently scrambling to find candidates they can support for the Eureka City Council and conversely, that scrambling is in direct response to potential candidates fear of going against Arkley money. Also, the larger the field in each ward, the higher the probability of a split vote which favors the current occupant as the known candidate. I sincerely do not believe the major of Eureka residents share Local Solutions agenda nor will vote for their annointed candidates.

This is interesting, because the planning department is out of favor with SoHum due to the Williamson Act lawsuit against Bob McKee. SoHum may not be a fundraising well for this particular Local Solutions candidate.

That would be County Eric. Not Eureka.

I hear Ron is a good guy. But anyone who has anything to do with locosolutions should be laughed out of town. Won't get my vote.

Eric - what would sohum be doing funding a eureka city council candidate?

Don't get me wrong, I despise Loco Solutions and everything it stands for, but I wouldn't judge Kuhnel by their endorsement of him. They may just be trying to hitch their own wagon to a sure winner just to puff up their reputation with donors - kind of like Gallegos and the Measure T nugjobs.

And who says they are?

locosolutions is a sham and any politician who cozies up to them is not trustworthy,

Unlike those who cozy up to Arkley.

People from SoHum do contribute to progressive candidates that affect local politics such as Eureka. So Erik is not off base.

What people from SoHum ? Anon 4:36, Marijuana growers ? Why dance around the issue. The underground Marijuana economy in SoHum puts all kinds of money behind selected candidates (clean and dirty money). Just because you don't read it in the paper doesn't mean it's not happening.

You progressive AH's act so righteous but it's all about money and your protected lifestyle. You hate Arkley because he has more than you and he got his legally.

"the planning department is not in favor with SoHum due to the Williamson Act suit against Bob Mckee" ......

WOW ..... Eric I can't beleive you made that kind of statement/admission !!!!

That says it all, to anyone slightly in the know.

Incredible

People from SoHum contribute to that which keeps their gravey train going ....... plain and simple.

Yea, why would anyone support Ron when they can have Jeff Leonard represent them?
I think everyone can agree that Jeff is the best! Just think of all of the cool stuff he has done for the city and those great quotes of his. Such a nice little man and never at a loss for words.

anon 11:03, from what I hear (from what you and other progressives, lefties, etc have put into some kind of print) Arkley is a billionaire ! Isn't that what you say ?

Well, if what you say is true I doubt that Arkley has to worry about his "gravey train". He can follow his concious and not his wallet.

Plain and simple ....... and that drives you whacko !

Have a nice day Wilbur.
