It's Really Raining Hard

As I write this, my rain gauge shows almost an inch and three quarters of rain since yesterday morining. Wow! Doppler radar shows more of the same continuing although it seems to be limited to Humboldt County, so far, at least on the coast. Batten down the hatches, folks.

I have to do some driving today. That should be interesting.

Drive safe, Fred.

If Thursday's weather predictions remain, drive around today and stay home tomorrow. I don't like driving on 101 when there is hail. Rain I can handle and usually just wait a few minutes to start off if it is a gully washer.

My ducks absolutely love this though. The area between the back of the barn to the edge of the neighbors fence turns into a nice little pond for them to frolic around in. The chickens seem to hate this though and pretty much stay inside the barn(and lay more eggs hopefully). But this was a good reminder to get some more straw laid down after work if there's a break at all.

Snow level is suppose to go down to 1500 ft tonight. I was just talking to someone in Oakland and it is partly cloudy there.

Fred, you should not drive around on a suspended license. Or a revoked one for that matter.

It's snowing bigtime in the hills.

I drove up from Sacto. last night via Hwy 20. Rain got going good just North of Willits. I holed up at the rest stop around 10PM. This morning I passed an ugly accident North of Laytonville. Long flatbed and big SUV tangled up. KMUD said they closed the road down for awhile.

BTW filled the tank for $2.519 a gal. in Willits. Hope everyone here is enjoying the local Arkley gas tax that helps pay for new Arkley malls where you'll be allowed to spend any money you have left over.

Only a True Believer® could bring Arkley into a topic about rain. FYI it's RENNER, not ARKLEY, and it's also our SUCK-ASS roads.

It is raining really well out there, kinda nice.

Mr and Mrs Mike Renner are members of the local gasoline price-fixing club. They and the other members pay the local media for good publicity. They must also have some pretty effective ways to keep their names out of the news when the subject of price-fixing comes up. It's like owning a printing press that prints hundred dollar bills. And they've been running that machine every day for decades.

That case has already been tried.

Glad I read this. My brother and his family are driving to Eureka tomorrow from Ft. Bragg to visit my Mom. I am going to warn him about potential snow and ice. All roads to Eureka pretty much SUCK even in good weather!

I reckon the local distributors don't make more profit margin than others- who gets a good deal in the industry, the smaller folks? Also, Mario Andretti owns Redwood Petrolium, I think. ?

A recent purchase.

How much did it cost Andretti to buy Humboldt Pet?

I heard it was bought for him by big oil- he has long had sponsorship and other financial ties as a racer. Power to him, rich bastard.
