It's Time Again

The time of year we all look forward to: The deadline looms for filing your state and federal income taxes. It's a couple days later this year, falling on April 17 rather than the 15th, the reason for which escapes me right now.

My check will be in the mail today.

Along that same line, the Sacramento Bee's, Dan Walters, sheds some light on the common misconception that the more affluent people in the state are undertaxed.

How about some dialog on taxes the corporations are paying?

We need to end corporate welfare.

The just saw this post so my comment is a little late. The reason the deadline is Tuesday is that it is a holiday in Washington, D.C. on Monday. I think it is Constitution Day or something.

I think Thom Jefferson said taxes is the price you pay for freedom. What you should write about is how the national debt is always growing. So, as a nation, we aren't paying the whole cost of what the government is buying.

Since most Government spending is domestic, as a group, Americans residents are getting more money from the Government than they are paying in taxes.
