This is actually Union business more than cop business. Still embarassing for the Sacramento County Sheriffs Office and cops in general.
The idea of the "blue line" or whatever phrase is used to insinuate that all cops will stick together to cover other cops is absurd. But I can see how cops will rally against idiots like Noel, Police reviewboard, adamsomthing or other, that make outrageous claims against all cops.
It all sounds like a Keystone Kops script. Sadly, this is what happens as a result of the end to hiring qualifications forced on the agencies by affirmative action, feminism and political correctness. In the past, most of the jerks who were prone to engage in this nonsense would have been weeded out in the hiring process.

So, fair hiring practices of minorities and women have lowered the quality of the police force? Wow! Well, surely they would not be paid as much as their white male counterparts except for that politically correct police union.
Let me help you out here 3:08 PM since you seem to be a little slow on the uptake. The agencies no longer can disqualify an applicant because he/she/it is under 5'6" in height, obese, has an arrest record for whatever violation, is over age, has a psychological disability or needs to take the written exam in a foreign language. They have to be weeded out in the training phase. The pressure to pass trainees who would otherwise have been culled for failure to qualify is now immense for "minorities", females and other protected groups and the disqualifications now can only apply to the "white males" you refer to. I am unaware that any pay differential has ever existed on the basis to which you refer.
Oh by the way, the "police unions" don't give a rip for the qualifications of their members. The only criteria they consider is payment of dues.

Sadly, this thread has unraveled and rational thinking amidst the resulting chaos is but a teapot in a tempest. The mob mentality has taken over. In another time, I suppose we would hear a call to "Hang him." Not much changes, except the technology.
I'd like to see all posts attacking other people on a personal basis simply deleted. We all know the troll who lives his life vicariously through attacks on everyone he envies. It's tiresome. Just delete him.
