I'm a Libertarian living in Humboldt County, CA. I've lived here in Eureka since 1973 and joined the Libertarian Party in 1992. This blog will mostly focus on local political issues, but I may stray into state and national issues as well, when I can't help myself. Fred- way off the subject, but-
do you know what the huge noise was last night?
(Sunday) about 11:30?
Sounded like a huge jet engine coming from the bay, but stationary.
One assumes the pulp mill, but we live in Henderson Center and it was nearly deafening to us?
Went on for about 15 minutes.
Anybody know?
Don't know. I was sound asleep at that time.
pulp mill is shut down
Could have been something to do with the pulp mill retrofit?
That sound has emanated from across the bay for decades. I used to hear it much more often than I do now.
