Cell Phone Towers

The Santa Rosa Press- Democrat looks at cell phone towers this morning, focusing a bit on the way they're being disguised now. The picture of the tower disguised as a tree looks just like the tower up by the Pine Hill Baptist Church. I never would have noticed that tower if I hadn't been told it was there.

I'm wondering at what point the cell phone companies will think they have enough coverage in a city like Eureka?

The church should hope people recognize the cell tower as being a cell tower, because as church spires go it's got to be the world's ugliest.

And I'm guessing you're the same one that thinks the new Co-Op building is ugly?

That church tower looks fine to me.

I think cell phone tower constructors should be encouraged to disguise them. I agree that the Harris St. one looks pretty good--can't wait for that bell to toll. Maybe we can get a list of tunes from Neal L. that we can vote on at the next election that the Church can be allowed to play!

Just drove over Donner Summit and saw a cell tower disguised as a Pine Tree overlooking I-80. It fit in with the other trees pretty well. Too bad there were no Eureka progressives there to protest it.
