Equal Diapering Rights Proposed

The Sacramento Bee reports two bills have been introduced to the California state legislature that would supposedly give men more access to diaper changing tables. Why this should even be an issue is beyond me, but no surprise in this state.

It certainly puts a slightly different spin on the term "Nanny State". It also suggests idle minds are just as dangerous as idle hands.

I gather you have never been in the Bayshore Mall, Fred. Believe it or not, there are diapering tables in the rest room area (near the front food areas). Though it's been awhile, I'm fairly certain that they are accessible to men.

Perhaps old fogies, like yourself, have long forgotten what it can be like to take your very young children to places or can't always get a babysitter when you want. Babies poo when they have to and it's no fun carrying a poo smelling kid around - cause people like you will turn up your nose and tutt tutt.

That's a job for a woman to take care of, right Fred?

So what's the problem? Why does government need to step in? This has been being dealt with for decades, if not centuries without government.

Exactly the point Fred. I 've been changing my daughter's diapers in men's rooms whether there was a station or not for years. Seems like the electeds should be focusing on the real issues like their per diem's and committee pay.

Cynical? guilty as charged your honor

Thanks. I wasn't sure when reading your first comment if you were supporting the proposal, or not.

Yep, if you were somewhere else without actual changing benches I'll bet you could do it on a bench out in public view and most wouldn't pay no mind. Ironically, the only people likely to complain about something like that are the ones supporting this bill.
