Eureka Police Homeless Policy Poll
The Eureka Police blog has a poll asking what you think the proper course for homeless policy should be. As I write this just over 65% chose "Focused Enforcement". I seem to be the only one that chose "Not Sure".
I'm a Libertarian living in Humboldt County, CA. I've lived here in Eureka since 1973 and joined the Libertarian Party in 1992. This blog will mostly focus on local political issues, but I may stray into state and national issues as well, when I can't help myself. Please post your comments by clicking on the "comments" link at the bottom of each post. Although I do moderate comments, you need not be a registered user to post them.

Yeah, people tend to be know-it-alls, even when they are clueless about a topic. Pride and ignorance has taken over. Humility and curiosity has been pushed to the side.
Case in point, 80% of Americans are "knowers" that the world was created in 6 days by a white man with a beard floating in the sky, who happens to read peoples minds and controls nature.
Polls are useless. Who the hell cares what people think? They are for the most part, generally speaking, easily swayed morons.
I don't have all the answers either , but at least the EPD is TRYING. where the City Council seems to have thrown in the towel
I think the council and police dept. are working on this together. There's just no easy answer. Heck, there might not be any answer.
Unless all the homeless miraculously got jobs and housing tomorrow, they'll always be there. Even if they got housing, it would still be a drain on the community and you'd still have many of the same problems we see down on the bay. Except then it would be next door to you.
