Reserving the Right to Discriminate
The State of North Carolina recently passed a law that supposedly nullifies local laws that prohibit discrimination based on a person's sexual preferences. At least that's the way I read it. As I wrote before, I think these sorts of laws don't go far enough. Businesses have the right to to do business with whomever they want.

I had a yankering the other day for one of those Jack In The Box Portabello Mushroom Burgers, or whatever they're called. I went in to the Eureka Jack in the Box only to be disappointed to find they no longer offer them. On the up side, I was surprised to notice up on the wall to the left of the counter one of those signs that read "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone".
Good, we need more of that and any fooling around with discrimination laws should be with intent of reinforcing the message of those signs. I'm not a big fan of Jack In The Box, especially since they no longer offer the Portabello Mushroom Burgers, but I'll try and make a point of going in there more often if only because they have that great sign.

You go Fred.
Food - On the down side, HOJ went to Los Bagels in Oldtown for a "veggie delite"........ only to be disgusted by finding a long hair in the food, repulsive. Needless to say, not eating there again, ever. Food industry should be regulated to require all good handlers, preparers, preppers, etc... to wear " hair nets".
On discrimination - the "in the wrong local laws" allowed any gender to decide which restroom they desire to use "unless you were a straight gender".
The governor " who IS in the right" signed I to law that if you were born with a penis, you use the little boys room; opposingly, if you were born with a vagina, use the little girls room.
The only absence of information is if you were born with both or nothing. Surely anomolies exist.
Woud you reconsider if the sign said we do not serve gardeners?
Since enough people do "switch their identity by gender on their own accord away from what the natural world and order of things had already decided", then those who " switch" should pay for 100% costs to provide a public restroom regulatory framework that provides for those who "switched" and won't use a restroom based upon gender at birth. Otherwise, off limits scenarios until the switchers pay for their own switching bathroom. Switchers create a problem not natural, and since the US Constitution is based ONLY on the natural order of things, a question arises as to whether or not "switchers" have certain rights obligated to them by taxpayers.
By your logic black people would still not be eating at the same lunch counter as white people. I disagree with your opinion.
Leave it to Fred to support "whites only" establishments being allowed to exist.
"The Right to Refuse Service: Can a Business Refuse Service to Someone?" by
Jane Haskins, Esq. on legalzoom and updated April 6,2015 has a good summation of the issue. In North Hollywood,CA. the LAPD and local business have instituted a "No Hoodie/Hat" policy. In effect, one must come into the place of business with a bare head, or they are refused service; and if they don't leave when asked, the police are called on the "offender." Pretty extreme interpretation of that "Refusal" ethic. It's a slippery slope indeed.
"Woud you reconsider if the sign said we do not serve gardeners?"
Nope. That's their choice.
"Leave it to Fred to support "whites only" establishments being allowed to exist."
I wonder if you'd feel the same way if it was a blacks only establishment? I'd say it would be fair enough for either side.
I might feel differently if this was the '40s or '50s, but it isn't.
I don't understand why you would want to force someone who doesn't want to serve you to serve you food. If you Have something against me please let me know and I'll go elsewhere.
I don't even know how to respond to you Fred. There's no way I can make you see the inherent racism of your argument. I can only hope that you'll be reincarnated as a little brown girl in the South.
Yes Fred, I would feel the same way about a "blacks only" establishment, because I'm not racist. Your comment is sickening.
Even back in the prejudism days, most of the stores, restaurants, doctors, etc only refused service because they had to, not because they wanted to. When people allow other people to set the rules, the end result often leads to misery. Between the political party's, unions, & churches teaming up with tyrannical laws, people were scared to stand up for the constitutional rights of all. Oppression isn't so much people driven, it's media driven. Who pays the media? Aha, a clue into the powers that be.
Staying true to your morals, your heart, despite what the media & the ignorant demand, is priceless.
Most businesses want all patrons from all walks of life. Some business owners are stuck in a propaganda world, suckling on false nourishments of righteous pride. While the majority of the people do not possess vile bias, it's safe to vote with our wallets & let the vile ones succumb to their own induced suffering. Let them close, let them fold. We're better off without them.
That's the beauty of a free market system. We're free to shop with our hearts, minds & wallets.
If we do not allow freedom of choice, we are subject to the Kings whims. Today he does not like tomatoes. Tomorrow he does not like coffee. His kingdom, his rules.
Fred, Sheriff Mack's video has excellent insight about standing up to bad laws & standing up for all people. His passion explodes while talking about Rosa Parks. She represents all of us today, the nation over. The 10th amendment is Sheriff Mack's favorite amendment, for good reason. Link. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7MglJf2JSJ8
Transgender reconsidered themselves to the point that explains how much transgender people formerly discriminated themselves.......to not like for any reason IS a discrimination, a prejudice, a bias.
Now, it is straight people in public bathrooms who ate being discriminated against.
In this political issue, gender at birth is the criteria to go by. If a person decodes that they want a sex change, then let them all pay 100% of the costs associated with that sex change.
Costs include "special restrooms" for those who chose discrimination of their former gender.
To reverse engineer biology at birth that causes discrimination for straight people is wrong.
Segregation can be a good thing, especially if it is the only thing that will be fair.
