A Libertarian View of the Trump Presidency

Another one of those fun links I find on Facebook. A libertarian blogger looks ahead to a Trump presidency:

"If you ask a Republican, they believe that Trump is going to save America from becoming a third world nation, he’s going to bring jobs back and end bad trade deals and “Make America Great Again” If you ask a Liberal Democrat he is going to pass homophobic, racist, Islamophobic, xenophobic legislation, he will cause the US to drive off the proverbial cliff while dictating like Hitler or Mussolini."

"The actual truth is the most divisive President we have ever had will really make little to no difference. What can we expect from a Trump presidency? Probably what we got in an Obama presidency and  a Bush presidency."

I think he's got it pretty much right.

I tend to agree, more of the same. Unfortunately, they will blame the econimical crash on him, which they will then blame the new blatant slavery trade on him. Everything the alarmists have been sirening about for several years, will now be considered Trump's fault.
Even that's par for the course.

"what we got in an Obama presidency"

Recovery from a deep and devastating recession.
An expansion of equal rights to more Americans.
Much improved access to health care.
Acceleration of clean energy.
A return of international respect for America.

"and a Bush presidency"

9/11
The Afghanistan War
The Iraq War
The disruption of the Middle East
A spectacular and incredibly bad financial crash.

Oh Bob,

Daydreamer you are, fly by night rhetoric....

Let's start with the tin foil hat microwave safe cookware of answers to your misrepresentations:

1) No Recovery exists, but false charts and analyses cover up the economic collusions, adjusted colas and dollar devaluations.

2) No equal rights expansions have occurred.....name one.....sanctuary cities don't count either, nor gender bender toilet issues, nor marriage issues......none are civil rights issues......

3) healthcare access is another grandiose lie....premiums up, choices less, carriers less, etc.....funny how Bob is now opposite his posts earlier this week......bullshitting bandwagon jumper Bob is.....

4) acceleration of clean energy....Bob means North Dakota Pipeline and coal...clean, what a hoot by a liberal California public employee pensioner and healthcare recipient.

5) America is less respected than ever before,so much so, progressive and liberal American Leaders praise Fidel Castro now because no friends exist but Cuba...... for now, lol.

6) 9-1-1 was an inside job Bob.....bombs were planted inside the building in the years leading up to 9-1-1.

7) Afghan War is a Russian masterpiece.

8) Iraq War - A Failed Congress

9) Disruption in Middle East - Thousands of years ongoing......

10) Financial Crash caused by liberal gubbamint agencies Fannie,Freddie + Duped Americans who believed they could afford an overpriced home! Then, they lost their job after buying the home......talk about gubbamint secretly withholding evidence of a market crash, and instead of telling people don't but a house, the gubbamint says zilch knowing the gubbamint was endorsing people to lose their asses on mortgages....

Fuck American Gubbamint Bob, but you support it......so you are guilty of aiding and abetting everything bad from the two party system you support.

Hillary Clinton is done, over, never to be entrusted ever again. Bill is done too. Fuck Chelsea Clinton and her silver spoon life opportunities she does not deserve......benefitting from fraud and corruption.

Fuck the Trump's too!

Henchman of Justice: Spouting rhetoric. That's all you are doing. The biggest problem in the world is over-population. The dumb keep on breeding and we keep on polluting everything. Hope you don't have grandkids as they will pay the ultimate price.

Wow! That must take an exceptionally thick set of partisan blinders to blame Bush solely.

"A spectacular and incredibly bad financial crash."

That was a failure of government. Both sides of the isle. It was years in the making thru several administrations. You make it sound like the crash would have continued to the point of the end of America if it weren't for your Lord and Savior, Obama. A good argument can be made that the recovery has been lackluster due to Obama's policies.

"The disruption of the Middle East"

Obama certainly has had his share of that. Obama's Arab Spring certainly hasn't been as flowery as they made it sound.

"Much improved access to health care. "

That very much remains to be seen. The rise in premiums that people are seeing doesn't bode well for the program. One thing I will note is they sure granted a lot of extensions and exemptions so as to not implement the brunt of Obama care until after Obama left office.

When the Great Recession occurred George W. Bush was the president. His administration should have been tracking the housing bubble and building financial risk. We don't pay presidents to play video golf while things spin out of control.

Obama had zero to do with the Middle East blowing up. That one is 100% on Bush, his failure to take action when warned multiple times about al Qaeda/bin Laden, and his illegal invasion of Iraq.

Some 20 million Americans now have health care access who did not prior to the ACA. All of us who get our insurance through employers or personal out of system purchases are now protected against being kicked off our policies if we get "expensive".

Overall insurance premium increases have slowed. The average Obamacare premium in 2015 did not rise (some states up, some states down.) In 2016 Obamacare premiums rose 7.2% which is about the average annual increase for all policies from 2004 to 2009.

Were Obamacare to continue unchanged (sorry, Fred) premiums should start to drop or at least rise a lot slower. As the penalty for non-insured rises and forces the healthy young to sign up there will be more money to offset the cost of treating the sickest. Remember, people who were sick and had no health insurance rushed to sign up. As any sane person would do.

Nothing that I can think of was pushed off until Obama left office except for the final increase or two in the penalty for non-insurance. Didn't Republicans force that to happen?

America's guilt lays in not exiting the UN who is, as they say, calling the shots. Go back in time & read the treaties signed. Vietnam? UN called. When the UN demands more funds, America robs from the SSI & Veterans & pays up. When the UN calls in countries to take out snake nests, America answers. Exiting the UN will solve half the misery.
America works on fear, to keep the tax money flowing. There hasn't been an official declared war since WW2.
Congress has become harlots. Whoever hands them the largest check, wins the vote. They don't bother to read the bills, just the checks.
Those in congress who do care about our country, our liberty, our prosperity, are completely flustered.
The economy is in ruin. The Dollar Store is the retail store that keeps the stocks above flood level. Not Macy's, nor Sears, not even Walmart. The Dollar Store.
