Being a registered Libertarian, I can't speak for Democrats. I oppose Trump's policy because two wrongs don't make a right. Have you noticed that these restrictions on migration and travel require a big, intrusive government for their implementation? How can you support the cruel work of that state bureaucracy and call yourself a libertarian? Read this Reason blog post and tell me how you can be so statist on this particular issue.

I've never claimed to be an "open borders" libertarian. I feel we should have no more obligation to let people into this country than I should have to let some homeless fellow come to my door and let him sleep in my living room.

I'm not sure what to think about Trumps controls on immigration, except for when you break something, you buy it, and we broke the middle east.

And that thing about Iraq banning Americans from their country? Too bad they didn't do that years ago.

There are many issues surrounding this. Here's just one: I think a major problem is that Trump sprang this with no planning and no vetting whatsoever.

It left the federal bureaucracy in chaos and confusion to interpret and enforce what these new actions mean. Even his administration and spokespeople can't explain exactly HOW it's supposed to work because they don't know and haven't been told any details. He or his administration didn't communicate and left many departments (Homeland Security is one of them) out of the loop. Customs was told to enforce this at airports without warning, at 3am. They weren't entirely sure what to do or how to do it.

Trump? He blamed the confusion on the airports and the protesters. Wow. I think Mr. Trump is either lying to himself or delusional.

This comes across as an amateurish, not well-thought out, and foolishly hasty executive order. It should have had weeks if not months of proper planning and procedural application at best. It's as if someone else was left to pick up the pieces and figure out how this whole thing was going to work.

If this is what we're going to see for how the government will operate in the future, God help us all under the impulsive and ego-maniacal reign of Trump.

i have seen these so called friendly refugees . a couple families from iraq took over a store outside santa rosa . refugees of the 91 desert storm . friendly refugees .
i was on vacation when the towers fell on sept. 11 , 2001 but after i got back and working in santa rosa i stoped at their store . it was an easy stop for my truck & trailer . and 2 weeks after 911 they had a big poster inside of the towers falling and death to america on top and iraq flags all over the store .
yep , nice friendly refugees
i dropped the milk i was going to buy on the floor and it splashed all over . they said pay for that , i said go to hell and walked out . before i could leave a sheriff stopped me . i said go inside and then come out and tell me to pay for it . he did , then he told me to leave .
within 2 days that store was shut down and the house they lived in behind the store was empty .
yep , nice VETTED friendly refugees

Surely, if this happened in Santa Rosa after 9/11 there should be some link to it somewhere.
Produce it because your story smells of BS.

The Old School capital L Libertarians are starting up their own platform. Old School? Mostly Ron Paul original platform before the progressives infiltrated the old one. Keep an ear out if you prefer Ron Paul over Bill Weld.
