Just checked my rain guage and we have had 7/8ths of an inch here in Fortuna overnight. Some lightning and thunder early this morning followed by heavy downpours. Glad I had my rain gutters cleaned this weekend.
I'm surprised you got that much. I didn't put my rain gauge out. I thought the forecast for showers might be a false alarm or, if it did rain, it wouldn't rain much.
I take my rain gauge inside during the summer. It's made of plastic and I figure it will degrade quicker the longer it's left in the sun.
