Watch Falcon 9 Land

A neat but quick video from Earth/ Sky News shows the Falcon 9 rocket returning safely to its launch pad. Look closely. It's not a big picture, at least the bottom video I watched.

i think its cool
it uses same tech as out SYFI movies of the 50s , 60s
top video is lots closer view
dont know why NASA never tried that with all the billions $$$$$$$ they used up

NASA never had the technology and couldn't risk the human losses.

Rusty, the companies supplying the International Space Station with their privately built rockets/etc. did so with heavy direct help from NASA. I'm not talking about the companies benefiting from the decades of knowledge NASA has learned about space flight (although that's true, too.). No, NASA had specialists working with these companies to help them get off the ground. No pun intended.
