The CREG TV Ad

I haven't seen this ad yet. I'm curious who the "donor" is. My first guess would be Bill Pearson, but maybe it's someone from outside the area? Anyone want to take a guess as to who's bankrolling this?

Which Bill Pearson? The owner of the Weitchpec store, Freshwater stables or Pearson's Building Supply? :o)

Pearson's Builing Center. He supposedly contributed something like $20,000 to Chris Kerrigan's campaign for city council, so I assume he's got money to burn. T.V. ads aren't cheap.

I think he contributed close to 15 grand. You can get that info from the FPPC if curious.politicalmoneyline.com may help as well.

I think it was closer to $7,000.

Either way, he's obviously got money to burn.

Since these are the same people who were in favor and passed "T", let them come clean and announce who the donor is, not hide behind some b.s.

Now I know why Pearson's stopped giving discounts to local contractors. Home Depot in Crescent City anyone?

It's Pierson, not Pearson. Hank Pierson owns the riding stable in Freshwater, the Eureka Mall and the Pierson shopping center in McKinleyville. Bill Pierson runs The Big Hammer (the Building Center.) Ann Pierson used to own the Art Center on 2nd & G street in Eureka, but I think she sold it recently. I think upstairs from the Art Center was the scene of the daft multiple cat owner seige several years back. Ann, Bill and Hank are the children of Ernest, who was a very successful local building contractor who died about 10 years ago. Ernest Pierson was one of THE movers and shakers in Eureka... back with the Bistrins, Dalys and the like. When he died his holdings were divided up amonst the kids.

Ok, more than you wanted to know.

Funny, Pierson was once looked at somewhat negatively, almost like you guys look at Arkley, but absent the virulent spewing of hatred.

They really don't need to run ads... lets just see some architectural plans that really take advantage of the site, with financial funding sources

If CREG comes up with a great alternative plan, do you think SN would adopt it?

Not a chance in hell...

The Arkleys don't care too much for the Pierson's...

Stems from Cherie's unsucessfull bid for Mayor, as well as the Walmart measure

Then do so! Walk the walk!

The way to get public participation is through local government. This is made a bit more difficult when the developer calls the city council and has the planning process killed outright. So, if you really want to listen withdraw your plans and start over with the community. See? Easy!

After all isn't that what anti-Measure T people wanted the pro T people to do- after sigs were verified. Just tear it up and do what we Tell you to do.

What? Never mind, Marina Center is not up for a citizen vote, tsk tsk. Silly me.

How intolerant I tend to be.

Be interesting to see, if, now that Gallegos has brought on the Twilight Zone guy, if the CREG people have work permits, model releases, and studio teachers for the kids they use in their ads. Or what he thinks of ole Paulie using the Teen Court kids on his website, or his own kids, did they have the requisite permits?

Hey, justice for all no matter how sacrosanct, right?

Ever since the Twilight Zone disaster, those laws have been strictly enforced. You can't use your own kids in your ads, unless you have a work permit, have model releases, have a studio teacher on set, pay them, and follow the multitude of restrictions that go along with this.

How much ya wanna bet?

Of course Gallegos wont go after the Pierson (er, I mean Salzman).... (er, I mean CREG) ad. His hypocrisy is galling.

But 2:22 PM, who is the "Twilight Zone guy" that Gallegos hired?

At 7:51 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Bit - you should get your facts straight!

By the way the twilight zone guy is Arnold Klein. He's an elder defense attorney who had one year in the Monterey Co. DA's office before being booted.

I guess yougofree.com needed a twin to talk to.

seems to me its not anti "Paul" but anti "yougofree.com. Perhaps 9:13 needs to get a life.

Twilight Zone, during the filming of the movie a helicopter crash decapitated some of the actors. Ever since then, safety of children on the set has been strictly enforced, even up here, even in a one time shot, even if it is your kid.

Bigger question is why this guy, if he is any good, wants to come here? Why would he want to come into this chaos, this disintegrating office?

Same question applies to Jeffrey "yougofree.com" Schwartz? Obviously he isn't any good. Plea bargaining all the meth cases he gets, plea bargaining the rape case, way to get out of working, dude.

He's another cripple like Stoen, can't try a case to save his soul.

If Paul's track record is any indication, this guy is another loser. Time will tell us how bad he is.

He better be prepared to roll up his sleeves, buckle down and work his tail off because he and yougo are going to be carrying a heavy case load, with lots of unpaid overtime, 80 hour weeks, being docked if they miss an hour - remember, the prosecutors don't have one single iota of civil service protection, contrary to public belief, they have none of the simple protections that teachers do. Maybe if Paul gets to work, they'll have three to carry the load. Well, ok, four, add Maggie to the mix.

And if they do a good job, and show up the boss, like Sheets, Jackson and Hagen, (and Dikeman) it's the ax for you.

Bit all you do is zzzzzz.

At 1:20 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

bit is bored by hearing about meth dealers getting let go, bored by the notion that kids can be sexually abused and beaten and there is no one to help them. Bored by the fact that his boy has systematically dismantled what was a smoothly running office with programs that were recognized as models for the state.

Because you know, that is so passe. So good-old-boy network. To actually take care of the office you were handed, to actually do the job you were elected to do.

Gives you a clue as to where bit's priorities lie.

Bingo - Bad Bit - go stand in the mirror and lecture yourself as you so love to read yourself all over the blogs. Unfortunately, it is truly sad how limited your view of the world is and what things you feel are so unimportant.

I am with 1:20 and think that meth dealers getting let go, kids bein sexually abused and beaten and there is no one to help them is so much more important than Bit's position on measure T or even the marina center. I mean, man - get a grip Bit. Is that really your be all and end all - really? how deeply disturbing!

Is that your mantra, bit?

Screw 'em all, you say?

At 5:39 PM, Blogger Fred Mangels said...

Ok, enough!

This is becoming akin to personal attacks.I don't see that as beneficial to any kind of dialogue.

Bit seems to me to have made his own points (although I might disagree with them).

Whatever. Let's deal with issues rather than personalities.

Look on the bright side.

Other counties across the state will be so grateful to get good experienced prosecutors of the caliber we have had here, there will be a feeding frenzy.

Gallegos will have his clean slate.

Rose no likey Paul. Surprise there!
