Blogspot On The Blitz

First Eric's blog goes down, then Hucktunes. Now my blog isn't working. Looks like a rolling blackout for blogspot. Never seen it happen like this before. When will it get fixed?

Thing I wonder (but am too lazy to research) is how is this service funded? I don't pay a dime for it, and I'm not looking at ads for cellphones and herbal viagra while I'm blogging or reading blogs. How is that? Makes me wonder when the bill is going to come. Is it like that shady guy on the playground saying "come on, try blogging, you won't get hooked, everbody's doing it. First one is free."

I've been wondering about that myself. Maybe it's a service that highlights their other products, but then I don't know what company owns blogspot. It seems like a lot of resources for nothing though.

You had to go and mention UFO's and look what happened.

Same here. So many things that started out free years ago either ended up being discontinued or requiring payment.

I know I shouldn't ask this out loud, but I wonder what I'd do if blogspot finally went to a pay site? How much would I be willing to pay for this? It would be tough to just quit.

About the only alternative I can think of would be to try and create my own blog and put it on my freeservers account. I have no idea how to put a blog together.

It would probably take quite a bit of time and effort to do that.

How much would you guys be willing to pay for your blogs? DON'T ANSWER THAT! Blogspot might be listening.

I'd be willing to look at underwear ads and ads for musical instruments. That's my final offer.

(and I'm kidding about the underwear ads)

I wonder if blogspot/blogger is financed by the U.S. government for the purpose of collecting information on people. They could easily demand access to blogspot records (for "national security") and get IP addresses.

Yeah, or maybe it's set up by the Illuminati!

Yeah, don't ever suggest that the U.S. government would actually exercise its power to do things in its self-interest, or Eric will accuse you of being a "conspiracy theorist".

Blogspot is owned by Google. They mine the blogs and comments for all sorts of stuff. Beware 3:24! They must believe it's cost effective

Anybody else notice with their computer that whenever Leonidas posts a comment with those Greek letters, that their hard drive spends several seconds in busy read-write mode before the page loads?

It's gotten so that I know ahead of time when Leonidas has a comment on a post. The page load stalls while the hard drive is busy doing something. This never happens on posts where there is no comment by Leonidas.

That's because Leonidas is a Masonic plant.

No, he's more of a mineral. You're the plant.

That happens with mine too! It's irritating. Maybe Leonidas is not a Spartan, but a Trojan in disguise!

Sorry guys/gals. Bring your computers/skills into the 21st century. Here's some help for those with Macs:

It was the Spartan side that put the "Horse" into Troy.

Can you post? I haven't tried today. But I haven't been able to edit posts for quite some time now.
