Well, we finally get to hear some reasons why the District Attorney's office wants to buy all those rifles, but that may turn out to be a public relations flop for the D.A.'s office.
Paul Gallegos, when asked if his office had a use- of- force policy said his office's policy is not a matter of public record.
Ouch! That doesn't look or sound good.

I don't understand why this is a story. They want guns. The real story would be if they used them. The whole media environment in this county is toxic. Look at how the papers are pouncing on this, and the local blogs. You guys need to step back and take deep breathes. I have never voted for Paul Gallegos and even I don't understand this toxic environment.

It's nice to see you following up on this Fred. When Rose posts these things, her bias is obvious, but not with you. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Just like David Cobb, the proof is in: Paul Gallegos is a traitor to the progressive community. He refuses to prosecute child-murderers on the EPD, he refuses to back independent police review, he refuses to support justice for the students and activists regularly harassed and persecuted, and now he wants DA investigators to have assault rifles even though these people have no responsibility to arrest anyone.
The Gallegos-worshipers are put on notice just like the brainwashed braindead Cobbite legions of Demockery Limited. We will not drink your KoolAid and we will not subsume the needs of our community to the dictates of Loco Solutions or any other elitist group. We will not vote for your candidates in any office ever again. And we will definitely have a progressive alternative for DA in 2010 who will put Paul and the rest of the new class of good ol' boys to shame.

You people need a rest. ar-15 first of all are pretty weak rifles, for assault rifles. Secondly, if these guys are law enforcement, why not issue them the equipment? Seems fine to me. The reason this is a controversy is some people dont like Gallegos, which is understandable. But it just seems delusional.
The guns are reasonable. But the policy he's withholding is a matter of public record.
Gallegos is either ignorant of the law, or he's violating the law.
I suspect he's just ignorant.

I suspect they don't have a policy yet, which means they haven't been trained. You can find thousands of deadly force policies on the web. Why wouldn't it be public? All it does it tell the officers when it is OK to use deadly force. Generally they are the same - when your life or the life of another is in grave danger. Not something to keep secret.
David Cobb's betrayal of the police review movement is well known, this is no paranoia. He is only out to make money for his crew and cares nothing for who gets hurt.
The same should be said now for the Gallegos gang who defend him no matter how many times he fucks up.

They're all mobbed up in the same Loco Solutions plot to undermine democracy and destroy any alternatives to structures they control. Either you get bought out, like Shane Brinton, or you get destroyed, like when Mark Owens had his house burn down by Harmony's thugs when he tried running against her for Council.
Poor Mark, I remember when that happened and I was appalled like every other decent person. We won't let Harmony play any such dirty tricks in the next election.
