Yet Another Local Political Group?

At least that's what our very own Shane Brinton wants to do. He wants to start up a Humboldt chapter of the California Young Democrats. I would have thought there would have already been a chapter up here. I guess not.

Speaking of Democrats, if you don't get the hard copy of the Times- Standard, you missed the picture of our very own Carol and Greg Conners, along with some others, at the State Democratic Party convention held a couple weeks ago. Always eager to hog the camera, Carol and Greg are, but you wouldn't know it from the photo in the paper today.

Do you think Carol and Greg submit their own photos?

As for Shane good for him: Learning about the world first hand instead of waiting for translators to tell him what to think, do, say. Nice, Smart *kid*.

Saw him talking to terrence of the arcata eye last week at sacred grounds.

Of COURSE we submit our own photos. I want my grandchildren to find me on Google when I'm dead and gone.

There is a nice photo of Shane and Carol with some protesters over at Greg's List. Fred, can I send you a voter registration form so you can register Dem and help select the next president?

The democratic party is fortunate to have Shane! Shane is not a *kid*, but a conscientious young man. I am glad to be on the same team.

Of course, Greg and I submitted the photo through our committee's
publicity genius. The photo was taken by another delgate at our lunch table with our camera.

We are not "eager to hog the camera", Fred, though thank you for the publicity for the party!

I wonder if HCDCC will be ready for a Christian Democratic Party or perhaps we could call it a Christian Communist Party ala Chavez. Boy, it's not easy deciding which flag to fly politically..

Carol wrote, "We are not "eager to hog the camera", Fred,".

Nope. CAMERA HOGS! CAMERA HOGS!

But not as bad as Mresquan.

C'mon Fred, re-register Democrat. It could be a good photo-op for you!

I can see the headline:

"Libertarian Landscaper Leaves Libertarians for Leftists"...

At 1:02 PM, Blogger Fred Mangels said...

Nope. If I was to re-register as anything it would be Decline To State.

Besides, a better headline could be had by you re-registering as a Libertarian: "Long Time Lefty Sees Folly Of Big Government, Joins Libertarians".

:-)

Fred, is that decline TO state or decline THE state? "I do not recognize your law, jumbled together as it is by the nobodies of bygone centuries,..."

Fred-It would be Long time Republican turncoats leave Democratic Party to join Fred's Libertarian Party

It WAS their camera but perhaps they didn't forceanyone to take their picture. Give em a break?

Hey! No picking on Mresquan, are you being a grumpy old curmudgeon Fred? That guy goes to more meetings than all of us put together, and not for *attention*...

oops Not that you're old.

"No picking on Mresquan,...".

Hey! I like esquan. I'm just having some fun with him.

Besides, I have heard that, whenever the media shows up at any of the meetings he goes to, he runs to the front of the crowd. If the camera isn't on him, he maneuvers his way into the background of whoever the camera is focused on.

:-)

A little socialist by any other name is still a little socialist.
Nice try to fly mainstream for a while. Cute young commie bastard.

Shane's come along way.

Mresquan doesn't hog the camera and he was just sitting there doing his job when at least 2 of those photos ended up in the paper. He's photogenic from any angle-not his fault.

As to Rose's comment about Shane coming *a long* way-Shane may be raising himself and I think he's a good parent. Shane has street smarts and he thinks for himself. He's building constantly on what he has learned. As influential as he is, I hope he becomes a teacher.

How completely pathetic of Shane Brinton, and not for the first time, he's been on a downhill slide ever since he was elected, first with the Measure T bullshit, then with failing to get Progressive Democrats going to oppose the evil of Loco Solutions, and then joining the dark side incarnate over at Dem CentCom.

Tell us Shane, since you totally flopped starting the Humboldt ProgDem faction, why should we believe you are at all capable of doing almost the same thing now?

At 3:58 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Prog Dems ARE Loco Solutions-what drugs are you on?

At 4:47 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

There was supposed to be a PDA Humboldt chapter as an alternative to Local Solutions dominance, but Shane and Richard soon gave up and sold out to gain membership on the Democrat Central Committee.

I think Shane is smart and a self-starter. He also needs to learn to respect others' points of view. I think he will do great as he becomes more mature. He doesn't know what he doesn't know, yet. Wisdom will come, but it's not there yet.

Greg, what did I miss? How come you were in the "Young Republicans" when I moved away and now that I am back I see you as a big Democrat? What changed for you?

People do change over time. I asked my brother- in- law, Marc Matteoli, a while back if he knew Greg Conners. All he said was, "He sure has changed".
