When Animals Attack

Plenty in the news lately about animals attacking people. We've had mountain lions attacking people and domestic animals and a kid was killed the other day by a black bear while camping in Idaho(?).

Now, from Florida, comes this story of a guy attacked by a bobcat. I think he's lucky he came out of it alive. The bobcat was rabid.

Just playing around with my own cats I've been cut up a bit at times. I've always felt, if a house cat really wanted to hurt someone, they could do some damage. I figure it wouldn't take much effort for a bobcat to kill someone.

Just one more thing for me to worry about when out in the woods.

I've seen bobcats a couple of times in the woods, and it's surprising how large they appear. They are also legendary for being good fighters. This dude must've been a good scrapper.

I was thinking the same thing. I can't help but wonder if I would of just panicked, and gave up. That guy let the cat have it.

Don't worry Fred. I don't attack old people. I'm far more interested in juicy toddlers.

Speaking of toddlers, I saw the biggest toddler in willow creek! It was little over 5 feet tall, had black hair, was eating a pint of ice cream. This sucker was HUGE by toddler standards. I can't wait to catch it and eat it.

Fred~our very good friends who live in a developed neighborhood in Mack town had a Mama and baby bear on their porch early this week...I'm thinking that the Animals gone wild stories are going to reach record high this year. Soon the Sasquatch are gonna be shopping in the Safeway's!

How big a can of pepper spray should I carry when I walk through mountain lion territory?

Lots of pepper and salt. Best coat yourself in it before jogging in the woods. Oh and could you carry some hot sauce? Not like I can go into a store and get it, and it makes teh meat taste better.
