Kerrigan Heads East

Why am I not surprised that Eureka City Councildude, Chris Kerrigan, has decided to head to Iowa to work on the John Edwards campaign? I guess because I've always thought him to be quite the political animal.

I've mentioned here before, and told Kerrigan himself back when he was going door to door in my neighborhood, that I felt his ambition was to be some sort of lifetime politician- another Wes Chesbro perhaps. He insisted that was not the case and that he just wanted to finish a second term on the Eureka City Council.

I won't hold him to that. I realize people and things change over time. I bet I'll be proven right, though. Just a matter of time.

A friend of mine told me that Mike Jones was stating that he wouldn't be running for reelection about 2 years ago. They must be adding something to the water at the Eureka city hall.My rep,Jimmy Smith,I'm glad he's seeking another term.

Hummm. Kerrigan working for Edwards? I would have thought he was more attuned to Kucinich.

The only thing "attuned" to Kucinich are a bunch of commie midgets with aluminum foil wrapped around their heads.

Good riddance. Too bad he can't take Shane Brinton and some of these other freaks with him.

Oh please santa, can he just stay and not come back. I can tell you that he is not a nice person when not on camera.

He seemed like a nice enough fellow to me when I met him.

Kerrigan promised that his work will John Edwards campaign will only last three months. Evidently Kerrigan believes the Edwards campaign will be over after Iowa.

chris seems like a nice enough guy to me. he seems like the most informed council member, with larry right behind him.

Thank you for making my point.

Ok let's open the 'can of worms' dept.

Can Kerrigan vote from afar on a conference call?

Even the Governor cedes his authority to the lt gov when he leaves the state.

At 7:04 PM, Blogger Pogo said...

Kerrigan is not an elected executive and cannot "cede his authority". It would be up to the council to allow him to vote in a conference call. This situation may be the best "gift" the dhimmicrats could give to the citizens of Eureka.

Mr. Kerrigan represents his district well, but "Pogo" can't even represent a cartoon character.

Of all the Democrat Candidates , I like Edwards the best. He's the only one that seems to talk about any problems that relate to my life.
If the Election were today I'd vote for John Edwards

I'm glad Chris Kerrigan has hooked up with the Edwards campaign I've met Chris on several occasions I've always found him to be extremely bright and engaging young man, Regardless of what one might think of his political opinions Chris Kerrigan is an asset to any campaign he joins

Enjoy that life, for it is another world. A world of excitement and pleasure. A world of enlightenment, and regard.....

A world what you want it to be....

Fred, I'm just curious. Did Rex Bohn ever come to your door and talk to you?

Kerrigan is so bright he's been going to college for 8 years and hasn't finished his degree! It's not like he has a real job to go to everyday. But of course he was paid as a "financial consulant" by Neely during the last election, politics.

Kerrigan will not like being step and fetch it butt boy (small fish in a big pond), but in reality that's all he is. And Edwards will take a beating in Iowa, and I'm sure Kerrigan feels the same way !

As for "working for the betterment of the country" ?? Being an Edwards lacky doesn't cut it. Try joining the Peace Corps, or better yet the Marine Corps.

10:22 asks, "Fred, I'm just curious. Did Rex Bohn ever come to your door and talk to you?".

Not during that campaign, that I can recall. He might of come by when I wasn't home, though.

He stopped by briefly once, since then.

Rex Bohn did come to my door much to my suprise as I had a Kerrigan sign in my yard had nothing bad to say about Chris just wanted to introduce himself. It seems with all of Bohns charity work with his Redwood Fields and auctions he would have been pretty streched to represent Eureka

It would seem like if Bohn was trying to run a grassroots campaign, Fred would be a hotspot of door to door campaigning. A Libertarian vote that might just be up for grabs on a high traffic street.

Sorry 6:30 but I never saw Rex busting his ass walking Eureka neighborhoods. I have never even heard of him visiting peoples homes. That man was so fake he tried introducing himself on the pages of the Tri-City Weekly and various billboards around town. With a 60-40 split, I think it's pretty apparent which tactic won out.

Yeah Kerrigan comes off well when he wants to. What is really revealing was when I ate dinner at a table next to him last year. What he was saying about how he really feels about those that elected him was horrible. Frankly, he made remarks about how really stupic we were.

Rex Bohn "Fake"...???

LMAO. OK, it's obvious you dont like the guy's politics, but what you see is what you get with Rex.

He never said a negative word about Kerrigan during the campaign, immediately denounced the Hit piece that came out on Chris, saying he had nothing to do with it, and is a tireless volunteer.

But..."That man was so fake..."

At 9:25 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yes the man is fake.

Rex is a top notch guy, as far as I'm concerned. One thing I think helped defeat him was that he worked for Renner Petroleum at the time. I think some, if not quite a few people held that against him.

I only say that because I mentioned to a customer of mine- a quite conservative fellow- that he'd probably be voting for Bohn. He said something along the line of, "Yeah, vote for Renner Petroleum...". Something like that anyway.

Didn't matter with that fellow, in the end. I didn't think when I first mentioned it that he lived just outside the city limits so couldn't vote in the Eureka city council race.

It did make me wonder, though, how many otherwise conservative type people might feel the same way.

Fred, I think the Calpine LNG stance was a much bigger issue.

During the campaign Rex Bohn talked a lot about how he had lived in Eureka his whole life.
That may have worked against him in the election because there were a lot of people around who had known him for a long time and a based on that experiance considered him "a big bullshitter"

I disagree with Rex on just about everything, but he's always been a nice guy,and does some good things for the community.

There are still Eurekans around who remember Rex back in his bar owning days. So his self promotion as a guy just interested in mowing the baseball diamonds and cooking Oysters or what not fell a little flat.

At 9:46 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

8:42 I know what you're talking about but he has changed. He is kind of a bullshitter but what the hell, so are most politicians.

What has Bohn done except promote another crop of redneck hicks riding around the drag strip and drinking alcohol? Oh I forgot, he cooks for the Arkleys and sucks up to them.

You guys are cheddar-heads. Rex has been no more an ass in his life than any of has. One big diff is that he has done more good than 100 of you snipers have. Do nothimg big mouths taking cheep shots at someone your jealous of.

Not really, if someone were inclined to indulge in petty jealousy, one would think that it would be directed toward the guy who won 60 percent of the vote rather than the guy who won 40%.

Its interesting that around the time Chris Kerrigan announced he was going to be going to work for Edwards. He deleted his myspace page. It was a great way for the younger generation to get in touch with him. I wonder why he deleted it?
