Frank and Paul need help!

Speaking of marijuana, I was just checking on the status of H.R. 5843. That's the bill Rep. Barney Frank introduced in congress that will eliminate federal penalties for personal possession of small amounts of marijuana by adults. The bill only has one co- sponsor, so far: Republican presidential candidate and congressman, Ron Paul.

I suppose acquiring co- sponsors takes time, but you'd think there'd be more than that just from the start. Lets get Mike Thompson on board with this!

And why do I keep writing about pot when I don't smoke pot???

I guess because it involves personal liberty.

The politicians are ignorant . All were apparently raised when alcohol was fun and Kool to do . Alcohol is a deadly drug and they through their ignorance think marijuana is a deadly drug . Any comments on this ?

In my experience from past use and counseling those who use there are more problems created by pot being illegal than being legal. The black market and criminal prosecution are dangerous situations imposed upon average people who just want to relax and have a break from boredom, tedious and often stressful reality. The fact that alcohol is so much more dangerous and is legal adds an element of bitterness to the whole scene. Without unfair legal pressure that causes rebellion many people would stop using because of the negative impacts THC and other chemicals react in their bodies (everyones chemistry is not the same)but stubbornly hangon ou of loyalty to the cause. Better to allow people to be educated about pot without the stigma so that they are free to make up their own minds about what is good and what is bad for themselves. U.S. out of my head!
