New Eureka Radio Station

As Myrtletown.net reports (and I received an e-mail press release on this earlier on) a new radio station is supposed to be starting up in Eureka. I don't know if Old Glory Radio at 1650 AM is considered Pirate Radio, or not, but it sounds like it will be a short range station reaching only to some areas in Eureka. I'll have to see if I can pick it up this morning.

I notice you're supposed to be able to hear this station on the internet, as well. Try clicking on that Live Feed link at the top of their web page. It doesn't seem to be working for me, though, at least not right now.

This talk show format should appeal to lots of the local bloggers. Just a while earlier he was ragging on Obama while opposing Prop 8.

I've found the radio I have out in my garage doesn't go up to 1650 in the AM band, but the live feed works fine.

Wonder when Eric Kirk will move his show over to this channel?

Ok, I notice this seems to be a recording since, after he "took a break", the same sequence started over again. Seems the actual Grand Opening of the show will be November 3. I'll be sure to listen in.

Can't receive it on the radio in our bedroom, either. Wonder if my truck radio goes up that high on the dial?

Thank you Fred for the mention. I have heard from many of your site regulars as a result of your promo. You are correct we are FCC compliant low power and only reaching Myrtletown and East Eureka, (about 15-20,000 people) via the AM waves but are also broadcasting live via internet stream so anyone can listen live and call in and participate. I am a fiscal conservative who believes the government should stay out of our lives as much as possible. The show will debut this monday at 8 am. I hope it can turn into something fun and of value to the community. It is important that we all have an outlet to have our voice heard. Best for now and thank you again,

Fred, thank you for your mention and promo. Yes we are FCC compliant and reaching Myrtletown and East Eureka. About 15-20,000 people via the AM airwaves. Also streaming live on the net so anyone in the county can log in and participate. I hope the show will allow us news junkies a forum to have our voice heard.

Best for now,
