Utah Gays Motivated By Prop 8 Battle
The New York Times reports that gay rights advocates in Utah- the state from whence so many Mormons come- see a silver lining in the failed battle to stop California's Prop 8.
Taking note of claims by the Mormons that they're not anti- gay and don't have problems with equal legal protections for gays, gay and lesbian forces are looking to introduce legislation in the state giving them such protections- something they don't currently have in Utah.
It will be interesting to see how the Mormons respond to this.

I would love to see the Church come out in favor of such protections. That would go some way towards mitigating the anti gay image they have created with urging their members to support prop 8.

Yep, those Mormons are really "hateful". And those Catholics and Jews who oppose infanticide cause all sorts of grief. What is needed is more "action" from the tolerant leftists/homosexuals such as THIS.
Meanwhile, Mormon missionaries are traveling, two by two, down the sidewalks of Eureka, trying to sucker in the lonely souls who aren't working during normal working hours.
I'm retired. That's how I happened to be home when they came by.
I've known and liked some Mormons. I admire the work they do for genealogists. But when I found out that this formerly polygamist sect spent big money to deny me and my life partner of 25 years the right to marry, I got a bit testy.
When they stood outside my front door and identified themselves as "Missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints," I said they could just keep on moving.
Before they could say a word in reply, I said "Peace, Gay Brothers!"
You should have seen the dirty look those "missionaries" gave me!
Don't you just love it when some old insignificant no-name jerk makes your day? Case in point.

If nothing else, these young men set a good example a lot of youth today would be advised to copy. At least they're not out building a life's record like the guy in the Times-Standard today, J. B. Whitmill, or killing innocent children like he did. It's the intolerant corrupt that cause this kind of scourge on society. These hypocrites preach tolerance and rights and deserve neither.
If you would be a little more forthright in naming the people you are writing about, maybe the rest of us could figure out what in the world you mean.

Are all of these people that post "anonymous" plain STUPID or just illiterate morons? Wouldn't hurt if they tried practicing what they preach BEFORE exposing themselves.
Fred, I am a respectable Anonymous poster who has been adding my thoughts to your blog for well over a year. Do I really need insults aimed against me based on my age or the unreasoning hostility of "Joe Blow" to be left here for all to see? I wrote a personal account unlike any written or published elsewhere. It was a stand-alone comment, in no way meant as a reply to the post left by "Joe Blow." For that, this hostile dull-normal "Joe Blow" insults me repeatedly. Isn't it obvious that he despises "old" people, and maybe gays, to boot? In any case, "Blow" is sufficiently annoying that if his remarks above remain here, while other insulting remarks aimed at other posters are removed, I will look elsewhere to post my thoughtful comments and amusing anecdotes. That would be a shame, Fred. We've had a good thing going here up to now.

Obviously, I didn't I see it that way. The very first thing these hypocrites do, those that preach tolerance, respect and the personal right to say and do anything they want regardless of all moral decency, is personally assualt with slanderous, unfounded accusations anyone that doesn't agree with what they want or who they think they are.

What that guy posted about how he treated those young Mormon boys is neither respectable nor amusing. His admitted and reaffirmed actions and attitude are hostile, despicable and insulting to all decent people.
What I wrote is exactly what I mean, if you can't figure my meaning, that's your problem. Not mine.
Joe Blow is testing my patience. Those "young boys", for example, were "young boys" only in HIS warped imagination. The missionaries I saw with MY EYES were in their mid-twenties.
Everything else about the hostile hypocrite, the anonymous hater of anonymous posters who calls himself "Joe Blow" is twisted.
I would suppose he is a member of the church in question, except that I have know any number of Mormons, and none of them have been marinated in hostility to the extent "Joe Blow" has been.
Their church chose to get into politics to limit MY right to marry. OK. That is their right.
Those missionaries came to my home the day after their church financed Prop 8. Did they expect me to throw daisies at them?
I called them "Gay Brothers." IF THEY TOOK THAT AS AN INSULT, IT JUST SHOWS HOW DEEPLY THEY DESPISE GAY PEOPLE. Hence they had better keep on walking, as I told them to do.
As to "Joe Blow" I wonder which Well of Bitterness and Savage Hatred he drinks from. But I don't care very much. He clearly wishes bad things to happen to me and other Gay people who refuse to hide from the likes of him.
Be careful, Joe. Gay people are not the weaklings you may have been taught to think we are.
And we enjoy 2nd Amendment rights, too, no matter what you may succeed in doing to our marriage rights at the polls.
To make it clear for you, do not attack Gay people or you may learn a personal lesson in what the NRA calls the "right of personal self-defense" to which every citizen, including Gay citizens, is entitled.
"Joe Blow" puts words on paper with the calculated aim of hurting other people. He says, for example, something about me being an indecent person.
To Joe, apparently, all Gay people are indecent, even if they help their brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, nieces and nephews, and also hold responsible jobs and own homes and pay their taxes. Even if they maintain long-term loving relationships with others of their kind. Even if they do good works and are respected by their neighbors.
In Joe's mind, Gays are indecent. I think I know why he thinks that way. It's because whenever he thinks about Gay people, all he can think about is certain sexual acts. Certain acts that he believes Gay people engage in. And he just can't get those pictures out of his mind.
Joe doesn't think about the Gay man who helps his brother-in-law paint his sister's house. Joe doesn't imagine the Gay person talking with his nephew, helping him decide which major to pick at college.
Joe thinks Gay people think about Sex all the time because whenever Joe thinks about Gays, all Joe thinks about is Gay Sex.
And he finds that revolting! So, to combat those disturbing thoughts, he dreams up nasty ideas for punishing those horrible sexual Gay people.
Chances are pretty good that Joe is mentally and emotionally ill-at-ease.
If Joe can just drain some of the hatred out of his heart, his life may become less a trial and a burden, and more of a joy.

BACKLASH, that’s what you get when the mob doesn’t get their way. One person, one vote, the will of the people, meaningful democratic principles, they all go out the window when they don’t get their way. Beware all you Christians and moralistic Believers, accept the facts as demonstrated, corruption breeds corruption, one rotten apple spoils the whole barrel. The hatred and bigotry publicly demonstrated by these slobbering crazies, to quote Heraldo, rival any neo-Nazi, right wing conservative.
The Times-Standards article said: ”Many feel as if they are now second-class citizens in a country that has seen that change can happen with this historical election,” a press release for the nation-wide event stated. “They do not feel that a majority should be able to vote on minorities’ rights or vote to take anyone’s rights away.” And this: Anger over Prop. 8 vote directed at Mormon temples nationwide

How is it that people can butcher by the millions their own kind just because they have a different religion, political point of view or sexual persuasion, if that’s what you want to call it? Take a good look a the local blogs, their commentary and comments on CA Prop. 8 and it won’t take you long to figure out how.
These people are self-defined. Stating the obvious is hardly name-calling. The Truth reveals itself. Lipstick on a pig doesn’t change anything. No one can justify such corruption and criminal behavior. Yet, it happens. It happens because of the lawless anarchy spitting in the face of the Universe. No Half-Black President can change that.
