The Prop 8 List

The list you've all been waiting for is available, the Sacramento Bee reports. You can now find out who donated for, or against, Prop 8. Here's the Humboldt list with 199 names.

A few familiar names to me but only one contributor I know personally. Cathy Webber, co- owner of Happy Dog kennels contributed to the opposition. I'm surprised I don't see more people I know on either list.

Unlike some, I don't recommend a boycott on any person or business listed. Rather than go negative and boycott businesses or people that supported Prop 8, how about doing the opposite and give those that opposed the measure your business?

Looks like Kevin Hamblin from the Eureka City Planning Dept. gave $2,000 to support prop 8.

No wonder Kevin backed Teen Challenge so strongly, he is a tool of the church community. This is why the City of Eureka bends over to religious organizations again and again without any consideration for the welfare of non-religious Eureka citizens.

Sad, sad, sad.......

Happy Dog? Did that really suprise you? Anyhow, good for her. I wish I would have donated against.

Part of me does want to boycot the business that supported it, and I probably will for the high doners. But what you said is resonating. It IS clearly the best approach, and one that is not divisive of our community.

We will see. Thank you for the post and the insight.

It is a little sad to see people you know on the Support side. And it is odd to see the last two people on the list donated zero dollars. Wonder what that was about?

Their checks bounced.

Let's not forget that plenty of gay people are religious.

By the way, Jesus said His two most important messages to humankind were to Love God and to Love one's Neighbors as we love ourselves.

Jesus did not say to hound our neighbors, fire them from their jobs, break up their families, call them filthy names, and label them sub-human.
