Syrian Rebels With Chemicals

Not to beat a dead horse here, but I've been arguing with more than one person as to whether the Syrian rebels had the capability to stage their own chemical weapons attack.

You might have seen this piece about Iranian warnings of rebels possessing gas. It contained this snippet I've read references to before:

" At the end of May, Turkish media reported the arrest of seven members of the rebel-allied jihadist group Jabhat al-Nusra in two southern Turkish cities, as well as the discovery of two kilograms of sarin gas in the suspects' homes."

'Nuf said, if the reports are true.

I think it's pretty obvious that the gas that was used was not sarin gas otherwise the first responders and people helping the victims would have been Exposed to gas residue still on the person and would be exhibiting signs such as blisters and respiratory problems nervous system damage the gas is probably chlorine or fluoride based but it was certainly carried out by the rebels because they video tape themselves doing it and posted it on YouTube and also not to beat a dead horse but since when did the United States back al Qaeda wake up people

Maybe, but Sarin can be used either as a liquid or vapor. Vapor generally leaves little, if any, residue, at least as I've been led to understand (studied stuff like that when I was in the National Guard). Still, protocol would dictate protection regardless of what form it was used in. I don't know but I would think vapor would be the most difficult way to use it if you have limited access to facilities.

Oh, and no blisters with sarin or tabun, the other nerve agent. You're thinking of mustard, a blister agent.

It most certainly could have been any number of other chemicals to simulate a nerve agent attack, although rebels have reportedly been found in the possession of sarin.
