I'm a Libertarian living in Humboldt County, CA. I've lived here in Eureka since 1973 and joined the Libertarian Party in 1992. This blog will mostly focus on local political issues, but I may stray into state and national issues as well, when I can't help myself. Yet another political quiz. This one by Time magazine, tells you how much of a liberal or conservative you are by asking just 12 questions. Those questions may surprise you, the first one asking whether you prefer cats to dogs. I scored 17% conservative and 83% liberal.

Jonathan Haidt I think wrote the Time one when I checked it out briefly. His book "The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Differ on Politics and Religion" (not the exact title, but close) is one of the books that I use as the foundations of my approach to politics. Believe it or not.
