Fred's Humboldt Blog
I'm a Libertarian living in Humboldt County, CA. I've lived here in Eureka since 1973 and joined the Libertarian Party in 1992. This blog will mostly focus on local political issues, but I may stray into state and national issues as well, when I can't help myself. AMEN.
Rose, do you have to be hypocritical at EVERY moment? You constantly rail for people to be jailed for drugs. Do you want gay marriage and abortion and porn legal? I highly doubt it.
second hand smoke?
bystander in a gun-lovin' neighborhood?
Where do your rights end and mine begin? Isn't that why we elect representatives to figure this out?
What about taxing cigarettes higher because there is a direct link between that choice and the medical bills the public would ultimately be responsible for. Or is the argument we should just let uninsured people who develop lung cancer die without treatment. If it's the latter, good luck winning elections.
Good sloganeering though.
uh yeah it you smoke cigarettes your whole life and then develop cancer and can't afford the treatment then yes you should be responsible for your own actions although I would have to admit the second hand smoke is a tricky one and I would suggest since we are a cultured of guns and that's not gonna change anytime soon school children should be taught how to operate a firearm safely which in many schools this was the case up until the early 90's I had hunters education in high school I believe this would drastically cut back on the accidents associated with firearms just like driving a carTHC
