Craigslist: Counterfeit Central?

Some of you might recall the Lost Coast Outpost's Ryan Burns wrote of selling something on Craigslist where he got paid with counterfeit money. Looks as if he isn't the only one.

A Facebook Friend posted yesterday she met some guy via Craigslist to sell a Galaxy watch (whatever that is). She wrote the guy gave her money she thought was fake. She refused to sell the watch, suggesting they go to a store or somewhere to make sure the money was real. The guy backed out and left.

Beware those Craigslist sales!

A Galaxy watch is a 'smart watch' which is not nearly as versatile as a smart phone, and completely redundant if you own a smart phone. This is why people who buy smart watches usually dump them after a few months of feeling not-so-smart because they already own a smart phone.

The dumbest smart watches are actually designed to work in concert with a smart phone (not kidding) because smart phones are getting so big these days it's a labor to whip out the phone to use it for anything. So, your portable watch is bluetoothed to the portable phone in your pocket because the portable phone in your pocket or purse just isn't so portable anymore.

Next year, expect to see headsets that bluetooth to your watch and then bluetooth to your phone so as to relieve you of the labor of lifting your wrist to answer a phone call or check the weather forecast for the 12th time today.

And will the Samsung Galaxy Watch get walloped by the equally useless iWatch?

Kinda looks like Ryan's rip-off artist got some attention, and it might have led to some busts - let's hope so.
