Dems Win Big In New Voter Registration Numbers
Calwatchdog tallies up the latest state voter registration numbers for us. The Democrats got the biggest gain with 700,000 new voters, beating the Republican Party gain of 130,000.
They point out the American Independent Party came in tops for third parties at 454,946. I pointed out in their comments that the AIP's large numbers are mostly the result of people checking the AIP box on the voter registration card in the mistaken belief that makes them an "independent". Oh well. No harm done, I suppose.
I read somewhere a while back that most "independent" voters (actually Decline To State) vote the same way they always did. I tend to believe they just register DTS so they don't feel they have to share the blame for whatever screw ups the candidate they vote for gets involved in.

Well how d'ya like that -- the GOP nominates an extraordinarily ignorant, arrogant, belligerently racist, sexist, xenophobic blowhard, who also happens to be a pathological liar and an all-around asshole, and the party's registration numbers sag.
There may be hope for this country yet.
What would really be nice to know is how many voters won't be voting because they are n o longer among the living.
When someone dies, let's say and old white guy, does his voter registration get cancelled with his death certificate?
How does that actually work?
And, isn't that the area where "voter fraud", if it actually happens, happens? Live people voting for someone who is long dead?
Bottom line; since republicans appear to be older types, it follows suit that they may actually be losing ground if more die than new republicans sign up.
That would suggest that the death rate is higher than new people coming of republican age, so to speak.
I do not think most fraud comes in the form of dead people voting. Most of the fraud, which is extremely rare, occurs when an individual votes more than once.
When only 56 babies out of 1000 pregnacies are not aborted, there's bound to be a decrease in voters. Immigration is the crazy solution to the democrats woes. Hopefully they won't fall for the bribe.
I hate the street sign algors. If we include the pole, it's wrong. If we don't include the pole, it's wrong. Worst of two evils seems to indulge itself in all polls no matter how they're spelled.
