Virginea Bass' OpEd
I just noticed county supe Virginia Bass wrote a column for the Times- Standard. Nicely done. It seems like she has a lot to say. Might this be the beginning of a blogging career? How about Virginia's Humboldt Blog?
I'm a Libertarian living in Humboldt County, CA. I've lived here in Eureka since 1973 and joined the Libertarian Party in 1992. This blog will mostly focus on local political issues, but I may stray into state and national issues as well, when I can't help myself. Please post your comments by clicking on the "comments" link at the bottom of each post. Although I do moderate comments, you need not be a registered user to post them.

Mental Health + Airport + Newsletter.
Mental Health - scammers are not suffering
Airport - 26% increase is not much when based against near defaulted operation and considering the county and community prepaid for a certain revenue base which the company could use to lower ticket prices....A subsidy to the mother company that then gets laundered into credit to the customer who bought a racketeered ticket.......
Newsletter - Guess the county website sucks, which is a self inflicted slap in the face.
Hmmm...don't disagree with HoJ...my own thoughts are that she's looking at moving up the political ladder...
1: I work well with other people and I've made good friends in other areas. I now know influential people and if they really like me (I think they do!) I can maybe possibly if the wind is right and I wear the right dress and smile pretty get someone else to do something for Humboldt. No one else has done that so far...
2: Everyone wants an airport, no one wants to pay for it... A big star for her if the airlines continue to stay and don't up the ante for support. Otherwise...
3: Newsletter. Big plus: you get to read all about HER. And you hear her side of the story first. But there's no guarantee you'll learn anything that you can't find out elsewhere (or even a better explanation) and since she would get to choose which replies to answer, well it won't really be like a blog, which is why
4: A blog is unsafe. Never know who might post and if you have to spend all your time proofing things before they post, well, that's time gone from what the blogger is REALLY supposed to be doing which is being an efficient, productive supervisor...you know, like the job description.
Am I cynical? Yes. Do I really care about this supervisor or that one? Not really.
