Stephen Lewis
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I can't believe this Stephen Lewis guy is registered to vote as a Democrat. Then again, is he? I've just assumed he is because he goes to Democratic Central Committee meetings.
I'm a Libertarian living in Humboldt County, CA. I've lived here in Eureka since 1973 and joined the Libertarian Party in 1992. This blog will mostly focus on local political issues, but I may stray into state and national issues as well, when I can't help myself. Please post your comments by clicking on the "comments" link at the bottom of each post. Although I do moderate comments, you need not be a registered user to post them.

I wish more democrats would have the integrity of Lewis and speak up against the nutballs that are currently getting away with lunacy on the Humboldt Democratic Central Committee. Riggs and his Local Solutions are a disgrace to all moderate dems.

Stephen Lewis was an original founder of Redwood Summer. He quit in disgust when Earth First! came in and violated the non-violence pact that was part of the initial movement. He has one of the most indepth and unique perspectives on the ongoing timber war there is, having been involved since the beginning.
He is Humboldt County's version of Patrick Moore, (greenspirit.com) who was an original founder of Greenpeace, now a vocal critic of the radical environmental movement.
You'd like him.
"Stephen Lewis was an original founder of Redwood Summer."
Wow. Who'd of figured that?
He has seen what has happened to the originally well-intentioned environmental movement. He and Patrick Moore, and Michael Crichton

mresquan, what do you mean by "scabs" in a political party?
I know the term means workers who support management against unions in a strike, but I don't see how that applies to political parties.
