Another Progressive Ban Proposal
While we're on the subject of progressives and bans, from the U.S. Capitol comes a proposal for a ban on possession of bullet proof vests. For regular citizens only, of course. If you're with government, you're exempt. Sponsors seem to be all Democrats. No surprise there, but I'll admit I won't be surprised if a few Republicans sign on.

Okay Fred, I'm with you on this one.
I can see why they are doing this (bullet-proof criminals are not so fun to deal with) but this is pushing it a bit far.
After all, if you outlaw bullet proof vests, then only criminals will be impervious to bullets.
Ok Fred, normally I am with your views...but the link posted did nothing but launch a myriad of App Store apps...thumbs down
"but the link posted did nothing but launch a myriad of App Store apps..".
Just checked it and it works for me.
What's the legitimate need for body armor? Exempt those situations.
Unclear on the concept of freedom. What's it to the government if I want to wear body armor? If the best they can come up with is "it might stop the government from shooting you" then we've got the wrong people proposing laws.
What about the freedom to live without the fear of getting shot?
What about the freedom of not having to participate in a civilian arms race?
Ever checked out the epidemiology of shooting in England v the US?
Freedom is a word, one that has been cooped for great political effect.
