The Trump Inauguration

The Sacramento Bee reports California has the largest block of lawmakers boycotting the inauguration of President- elect Trump, as if that's something to be proud of. I'm not suggesting it's something to be ashamed of but, suffice it to say, let's hope we've heard the last from The Left about how bad conservatives treated Obama since he was elected.

I see on TV NBC and the other networks are already announcing their pending coverage of the inauguration. I don't get that. Politics aside, why would anyone want to watch a stuffy event like an inauguration. I've never been interested enough to watch one. I don't plan on watching this one. I can't help but think I'm not alone in that regard. You'd think the television networks would know nobody really cares about this. Then again, as with most things, television tries to turn events into news.

But maybe I'm wrong. Does anyone else care enough to watch this inauguration? I'm sure a handful will  watch just for any fights that break out. I read something yesterday about progressives recruiting people to attend and disrupt the event. I'll admit I might want to watch those fights myself, but I'm not going to make a point of watching the event because of them.

To gauge interest in the inauguration, I've started the below. Let us all know if you're gonna watch it. I've already voted No:

Will you be watching President Trump's inauguration?

Actually, that dbag James O'Keefe was trying to pull his BS by posing as a progressive trying to recruit people to disrupt the inauguration.

Not attending the inauguration is not comparable to what Obama had to put up with from Republicans so, no, we are not done.

Voted No too.

Will wait for the first female or glbtq president, then excitement will be in the air no doubt.

How can Trump get any more exciting? Seems like it will be the soso experience. People want fresh for inaugaration, not yee who has wore out his welcome as far as "entertainment" is concerned.

As far as the process, let's see if Trumpeter puts his hand on the holy bible.......This for proof that Trumpeter Trump's for conjoinment of church and state, not seperation.

I don't have tv, but might watch some of it livestreamed.
The protestor leaders have demanded for no video taping by protestors, so that no protestor has evidence against him/her.
The protestor leaders have demanded for cops to leave their cams at the office.
The legislative provacateurs have huddled together out of harms way.
But the good news is, bikers are arriving by the thousands.
Maybe I'll watch the whole thing afterall.
I imagine Luke & other free spirited journalists will be filming. Too bad Santilli's still locked up.

HOJ, the oath means you answer to "the man upstairs" & to the people if you break your oath.
There is no separation of church & state clause.
The clause is the 1st amendment. Govts can not in any way, shape or form, DENY or ESTABLISH a religion. It is their job to PROTECT our rights, not deny or establish them.

I voted 'no' also.
I have been wondering what the various programming people have been planning for us for that day. The major stations and the political cable channels cover it until 1 pm then it's pretty much back to the usual stuff except for the political channels.
So call in sick, sleep in and don't turn on the tv until afternoon. Or rent a couple videos.
It will be interesting to see the tv ratings for the 'event'. Not that I've watched any of the others either. It'd be sort of like going to a wedding for people you didn't really like that much in high school. Big deal for them, big nothing for me.

Why Fred? Was that all made up? They didnt shut down the government, twice? They didnt actually say "even if it hurts the country."?
I pray to God, Fred, that you hear it over and over until the sob is impeached. Sorry you dont like that.

What is our congressman Jared Huff and Puff going to do with his free time. Are they going to sit around in a big circle jerk of a pity party. I just love how they promote big powerful government when their guy is in power and then lament the enormous power of the president when their perceived enemy assumes power.

"They didnt shut down the government, twice?"

That was because of difference in policy preference, not in protest of Obama himself.

And remember that was a shut down of "non- essential" branches of government, which probably should be shut down anyway, and nobody noticed, except the media. I didn't skip a beat in my life.

Yep, they're learning a lesson. As a wise man once pointed out: When you give government the power to give you everything you want, you also give it the power to take it all away.

I'm not sure they'll learn that lesson. When they get power again, I'm sure they'll try to increase it again.

Not likely. We'll hear about it again, as we should, every time Trump whines about how the Dems are being so mean to him. I have a feeling we're going to see more of that Trumpian whining, not less.

Sorry, Donald -- after spending years attacking Obama with the "Birther" lie, you have exactly zero grounds on which to complain that you're not being treated with enough deference and respect as President.

Wrong, seperation of church and state is not negotiable.

Putting your hand on the Bible as part of a government function is conjoining "a religion over others" while simultaneously and concurrently conjoining church and state.

Ya, it is disgustingly overly progressive that tv abandons it's regularly scheduled programs for the pomp and circumstance of a BULLSHITTER for a process less Americans give a flying fuck about.

California voters of the 2 party system have "royally fucked up this state", and now are using their head up ass illogic to overthrow federal authority:

Border
Sanctuary status
Illegals everything - health insurance, votes, medical, social services, etc....
Elections- rewrite rules to exclude participation in order to size political control over all others to unilaterally dictate America's direction.

HOJ, sorry, but THE oath is the ultimate promise. Men, especially politicians, break promises to men every day without remorse.
The Founding Fathers built the Constitution upon God's Laws of Self Governing. The Constitution limits, restricts, the Governments, not the people. Taking an Oath is a promise to man & to God, the highest most ultimate power of all, to acknowledge and confirm to hold the promise in utmost respect. In the case of an Oath of Office, they are promising to man & to God they will do their damdest to preserve, protect & defend the Constitution, which is a contract that RESTRICTS the Govts from interfering in our Self Governing lives. The States also take an oath, to the Federal Constitution, confirming they will uphold the Self Governing rights of the people, during the daily course of creating order out of chaos. The States have the power not given to the Feds, nor denied to them by the Constitution. The States & the states govts (local, county, ..), are FORBIDDEN, through oath, to "regulate" our rights to Self Govern, but they may control the outcomes & consequences to those who voluntarily gave up their right to self govern. Hurting others means you've given up your right to self govern.
Taking an Oath on the Bible is the first acknowledgement of Freedom of Religion. Freedom of Belief. Humbleness to a higher power that will deal with you in the here & now and in the afterlife should you betray your promise purposefully. This is the heirarchy from which OUR constitution was created from. They have no power to destroy your Freedom of Choice, because that is what true liberty is, is freedom of choice. We have the right to choose to be bad, but there WILL be consequences. We can choose to be good, & there WILLbe freedom.
Freedom to take an Oath on the Bible secures our freedom of religion, speech, self defence, privacy, due process, etc, for ALL citizens, not just the bible thumpers.

At 11:29 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

HOJ, the Oath represents the heirarchy of the govts.. They vow to accept consequences for their actions. The entire oath, states they will step down from office if they fail their oath to preserve, protect & defend.
Noah Webster, a Founding Father, wrote the definitions of what the Oath means. Unfortunately, the people don't understand it is their duty to hold them accountable to their Oath. (All offices take this Oath to the Constitution).
We are a Self Governing people, who created the Govts to protect our Self Governing rights & to hold those accountable who restrict or harm our liberty.
The bible represents the ultimate judge. We can fool some of the people most of the time, but we can never, not ever, fool the ultimate judge.

We need to separate indoctrination from the bible & from the Constitution.
Without the indoctrination, they are both simple & easy to understand.
The out of context indoctrination keeps the people focused on "social issues" & wars.
There ARE NO social issues in the Constitution. War MUST be declared by congress, MUST be up for Congressional renewel every 2 years, and taxes collected are temporary. The "war on drugs, poverty, Terror," etc, are phoney non constitutional encompassing pretence laws that keep the taxes rolling in. Taxation really is theft, in these instances. Not stepping down, is perjury. The corruption list is miles long, yet here WE sit, arguing over an Oath on the Bible itself? Divisive measures are a first clue of being manipulated.

At 12:03 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Thinking along the lines of another faith, including the faith of atheism. (BELIEF there is no God), if it weren't for manipulative indoctrination, they would be saying to themselves "you're dam right WE will hold you accountable if you fail to preserve, protect & defend our Constitution".
My God, will also hold you accountable.
My intellect will hold you accountable.
We the people plus your sparkling fairy tale pony in the sky will hold you accountable.
Either way, it is a promise of accountability.
Unfortunately, the people have been manipulated by indoctrination in every area. They confuse rights with privileges, voluntaryism with force, right with wrong, ...
Oaths to all highest powers including the power of the Self Governing people, to invisible (just like our spirit's internal desires for liberty) powers.

Just because you read like a white anglo saxon, bible thumping advertizer ( not trying to be mean), are you willing to negotiate your stance to the not so extreme inclusionary practice of a truly constitutional pumping person of "placing thy hand on all the world's religious manifesto?"

Get back to HOJ when honesty sets in and reality strikes like a lightning bolt that "seperation of church and state" means,

To not accept all religions, but to accept the chosen, is to show a preference of one or some over others; and, when that prejudice is used by a government in its functions, thereby displaying for all to see that government is not seperating itself as a functioning institution under US Constitutional laws from religion, but implementing it, opposite of allowing others to benefit from, as you write, "The clause is the 1st amendment. Govts can not in any way, shape or form, DENY or ESTABLISH a religion. It is their job to PROTECT our rights, not deny or establish them."

Putting a hand on less than every religious manifesto (bible other) is forming and shaping religions over other religions....Funny thing is, where you went bad was inferring HOJ was not talking only about gubbamint's role......You wanted to get into the private sector to display your unquestioned recitals which HOJ never questioned to begin with, again, funny way to get involved in a conversation.
