Spam

Just out of curiousity, does anyone have any ideas as to why the spammers will go after certain posts to put their spam on. For a week or so now, nearly all the spam my blog's been getting is being posted on a May 22 post.

Just wonder why they'd keep hitting the same page?

I'm having the same issue.

I wonder if the spammers are able to detect when a spam "sticks," or doesn't get deleted entirely.

Maybe I'll try giving it the hyper heave-ho.

The May 22nd post might turn up in search results for a keyword of interest.

Dunno. We changed our blog from member-only to moderated posts, so the spam reaches my mailbox before it is posted and I can delete it before it shows up.

guess it's time for some more new legislation... but then again---spamers will try another approach for it is in thy human nature. so, in other words-- you live with it now or you live with it later, for it will never go away...

Maybe the post was linked to another blog or web page....

I guess it's human nature to feel that way. Problem is, after congress passed that last "CanSpam Act", I understand that spam actually increased something like twofold.

Kind of along the lines of what the late Harry Browne said regarding abortion: "If we get government involved in the abortion business, we'll end up with men having abortions...".

For those of you in Arcata, what he's saying is government often makes problems worse.

Once again Fred, another example of why you should turn in your Libertarian card for a Republican one. Yeah, so many people in Arcata love the government.

Get real Frederick. Stop listening to talk radio all day.

Fred's right - and any anti-spam laws won't stop the spam that comes from outside our borders, which is most all of it.

When SPAM is outlawed only outlaws will SPAM.

Actually, I rarely listen to talk radio, at least in the sense of right wing political talk; Limbaugh, Hannity and such.

About the only time I listen to any kind of talk radion is when I'm in the Bay Area and then it's those racy, often sex obsessed, shows on 106.9 FM.

They're all pretty much the same, except for the Radio Chick, but I do often find them funny.

In addition to that I often listen to the lefty talk shows like Democracy Now, and such, although I don't know those would be considered talk radio. Those are more like news radio, I guess.

I pick those up in the Northern Mendocino, Southern Humboldt area.
