The Tribune Lives?

Just been advised of a relatively new Humboldt blog. Looks like he's trying to fill in the hole left by the late Cap'n Buhne. Just like the formerly anonymous Cap'n Buhne, the fellow who blogs the North Coast Post is anonymous and seems to follow Buhne's style pretty well.

Looks pretty good to me, although in the sidebar his suggestion that he's got the most comprehensive list of Humboldt blogs seems to fall short since all I can see is Eric's Sohum Parlance on the list. Oh well. I'm sure he's working on it.

Fred, I think he's saying Eric has the most comprehensive local blog list.

Oh, ok. I guess I misunderstood.

Yeah, that's definitely Buhne Tribune incarnate... pretty obvious, really. As for that blog list, well, come on we can do better than that, can't we? The list is fairly comprehensive, but I don't see any of the TS blogs on there, or, say, the HumCo Live Journal, or even the Myrtletown blog. There's also HSU's Renewable Energy Student Union Blog ;). Furthermore, does anyone actually read AnonRmous's Super Happy Fun Blog? It reads like it's written by a 15 year old rich kid who doesn't know the first thing about journalism, writing, society, or adulthood.

And another thing! If the North Coast Post is indeed Ryan Hurley's latest anonymous publication, I think it's very lame that he insists on writing anonymously. I also think it is especially lame that he DELETED the Buhne Tribune. Sure, it was probably embarrassing to be exposed after writing such ridiculous things and copying Seattle's "The Stranger"... oh, right, that's why he deleted it.

Pointing out the Journal's new design's similarity to the Lumberjack masthead is pretty funny, definitely Buhneworthy.

Well, I'm just glad to have that niche filled by whoever's doing it.

My guess is that it's a Reporter staffer.

My guess is it's John McFlannery from Scotsdale, Arizona. That bastard. It's just like him to pull something like this.

I think it might be mresquan. He mentioned he was starting a blog on a post over at Eric's blog.

Whoever it is, can we hurry up and out them ASAP so we can get on with our lives? All this grade-school "I wonder who it really is?" baloney has gotten old.
The B-T has already been done, folks. What's this new blog going do do different, other than be yet another fascist Arkley tool, censoring all but the Approved Message?

Censoring all but the Approved Message? You've got to be kidding.

Just like Buhne, this new blog specializes in licking the asses of the Journal and Eye unquestioningly. Are any of you bloggers willing to stand up to these yuppie creeps besides Anon.R?

Let us know when you get your blog up and running, mresquan. Looking forward to it!

A little more graphic then I'd write, but pretty much accurate. I thought blogs were supposed to present views alternative to what's in print.

Are you serious? The Post needles the Journal for its redesign and the Eye for its tininess.

Just because it isn't MEAN like you doesn't mean it isn't independent.

That's right, nitpick the design details and ignore the reactionary content, there's a good art school student. You have a bright future as an adwhore, just like Joel Mielke.

I'm not 100% sure about the Post yet - perhaps comes across as trying too hard? I do appreciate the fact it is trying to fill the gap left when the BT went away. I plan to give it a chance.

So far he's deleted every comment I've made. Strangely, no one else has commented on it. Could this just be a copy of the "what's happening" hate blog?

If he's deleting all of Nick Bravo's comments then he's doing the mental health of this county a world of good. Only if Fred would follow his example. Didn't Fred promise to remove Bravo's link?
