Stancliff/ Palin

I see Dave Stancliff is up to his left wing hijinks again telling us old news about some of the Left's accusations against GOP VP candidate, Sarah Palin.

I don't really get it. Why did they discontinue Dave Cobb's column but keep publishing Stancliff's? Oh, I see. The Times- Standard says he's one of their columnists. I assume he gets paid for that? If not, why Stancliff but not Cobb?

Speaking of Palin, I swear I don't follow Sarah around reading everything about her. This story was on Calnews.com this morning so I thought I'd check it out. The thing I find interesting about her is it seems that even most of the people she went up against don't seem to have that bad of feelings about her.

But I loved reading the fourth paragraph from the bottom:

"It contends that soon after Palin took office, she “made a political enemy of Carney,” who owned a garbage removal company, by voting against an ordinance he proposed that would have required city residents pay for curbside pickup."

She voted against a mandatory garbage pick- up proposal in her town! The same sort of scam that the Eureka City Council recently passed unanimously. If Palin doesn't end up Vice President, I say we lobby her to move here. Sarah Palin for Eureka City Council!!!

Thank goodness the T-S dumped David Cobb in the first place, what a huckster loser who couldn't help but promote his own money making schemes every week.

Now it's up to KHSU to dump him too, and with that and his girlfriend's election defeat in November, it will be about over for Cobb in Humboldt County, his gravitas and income generators having dried up.

You miss Cobb?

It was the same tired rhetoric every week.

He gives a good speech, I'll give him that. but he and his squeeze are so predictable that they've both become felony boring.

Stancliff's light years better than Cobb.

Here're three good links

Get back in the kitchen, Sarah

Sorry, bad links, Rose. They work, but they seem to be the same sort of diatribe the Left is throwing out against Palin.

It's interesting, from a third party perspective, to see both major parties attacking themselves in the same way. It's often over the same issues, like "experience".

I'm not sure I remember Cobb ever attacking candidates, although I'm sure he could have. Stancliff seems to be, or is trying to be, a stealth Democrat campaigner.

Not that there's all that much wrong with that. That's to be expected. Still, one has to wonder if the T-S is paying him and, regardless, why they dumped Cobb?

Also, why did they dump Leo Sears?

I might add, publishing Stancliff's commentary is still better than the North Coast Journal using an Op-ed praising Barrack Obama as their cover story a few weeks ago. At least Stancliff's piece was on the editorial page.

Doesn't seem like Media Maven, Marcy Burstiner, had a problem with NCJ doing that.

Stancliff light years ahead of Cobb?????? zero + zero + light years of zero still equals ZERO!

"Also, why did they dump Leo Sears?"

To save thousands of Humboldt County teeth from the effects of weekly grinding.

Re anonymous 12:46:

So, many of the socialists in Humboldt County were grinding their teeth over Leo's columns, huh? All I can say is, "Good job, Leo." I hope he keeps pounding on the Eureka City Council about their redevelopment agency's waste of taxpayer's money.

I guess that hypocrisy, lying and threatening librarians are only "left wing" issues. Apart from such trivialities, we all love Sarah here, don't we?
