Homeland Security Getting Into Elections

The Los Angeles Times reports Homeland Security is coming up with "advice" for elections officials that might help with the integrity of elections. This after the security breach within the Democratic National Committee e-mail system:

"“There are some short-term and long-term things I think we should do to bolster the cyber security around the election process,

Why do I feel nothing good will come of this?

Depends, of course, on what that advice is. Then, if it goes as things usually do, it won't end there and we enter the slippery slope of them getting more and more involved.

My guess would be that you grew up with a strong distrust of public employees. Am I wrong?
