Tiny House Villages: Yes Or No
KIEM TV's poll question up now asks if "You support a tiny house village for the homeless in Humboldt County". Only two answers- yes and no- allowed. I'm not going to participate if only because I don't like being restricted to two answers and can't think of an honest way to answer it with just Yes, or No.
I actually like the idea, but there's a lot more involved, as we've seen with other homeles projects we've had here. The places end up a mess for one thing, and where are you going to put such a village? Do you want it next to your house? Never mind how much it might cost. I don't have a problem spending money on those least able to help themselves, I don't like the idea of something like this that will likely be a drain on city and county coffers for its existence.
I realize that reads like a No answer, but the idea of the tiny houses itself is a good one. It's just how (and where) it's implemented that's the problem and that can't be answered with a simple Yes or No.
So go answer the poll, then come back here and tell us how you answered.

I would answer: wny not?
HOJ would answer:why? Then how.....And then, what about this and what about that.........
Democrats are inbreds......Inbreeding was deemed wrong this last election......Go figure the inbreeding occurs in politically populated areas to the point that inbreeding is popular.......To the point that inbreeding types are seeking to create a new country...
Funny stuff.
Tricky question. What rights do we sign away through which grant?
Fred, the sentiment of your vote is 'yes.' A yes vote doesn't mean 'Yes, no matter how the idea is implemented I pledge my complete and undying support for the effort. It can do no wrong. Huzzah!'
A yes vote means the idea, to you, is probably worth implementing in some form, that it's at least worth exploring. A 'no' vote is the strident unilateral response that the idea is not to be considered in any way, shape, or form. Yes gives you room to explore. No shuts the idea down.
The problem with our country is that there are too many people who say 'no' out of fear or knee-jerk skepticism. If you can come around to this realization, I dare say there is a tiny progressive hiding inside you Fred.
Tiny house living requires a minimalist lifestyle. So No.
Liberal John used his huzzah on his post headline today.....
Too many people say yes to promises and an empty vacuum.
Minimal maintenances too, lack of obligation, lack of responsible living, etc....Just more gubbamint lies.......
As we turn all of Floyd Squires' tenants out on the streets maybe we should ask where do we put them.
How many years has the city and Squires attorneys been at it?
Some of his buildings as depicted are not representative of anything but normal Eureka older home syndrome.
Why put in a bunch of money for mother fuckers as tenants who live the most fucking nasty lifestyle possible......That is subsidized housing, fuck that shit!!!
You make the basics.....Basic......Fuck a fresh coat of paint, or landscaped yards for poor, low income fucks......
Respect a building, respect all that goes in to keep a building habitable, or fuck off!
Sick of scum bag renters.
Scumbag renters begin the process of their own housing crisis.......
I am really starting like HOJ. Get's to basic nitty gritty, no wasted words or comments. Rock on HOJ.
"Why put in a bunch of money for mother fuckers as tenants who live the most fucking nasty lifestyle possible...".
As others have pointed out elsewhere, the Squires rent to people other landlords won't. You might argue that's a public service when considering the homeless problem.
"I am really starting like HOJ."
Yep. Jeff seems to like being among the first to comment here. I'm wondering if it has something to do with getting arrested over a fight with his neighbor years ago? Seems he's been bitter ever since.
If there were courses teaching them how to build from salvage materials, I would be all for it.
Forcing the taxpayers to build for the unfortunate homeless citizens, just to watch the AFFH-HUD kick them out and replaced by "diversity", doesn't float my boat.
obviously the demographs "homeless" and "houseless" are too vague to elicit a quick and certain yay or nay from many. myself included, i support the idea but the fact is the fact and its the biggest, most important fact of all: the population is growing everywhere exponentially, and the homeless population at an increasing rate with it. its all temporary bandaids, our social construct isnt changing at all. it really is class warfare, turf wars, the haves versus the have nots.
He is knowledgeable on alot of subjects, and has alot of common sense. He's entertaining at times, as well. 😃
But HOJ apologizes for the extra emphasis on curse words and not all renters are scumbags (emphasis on scumbag renters only), but the level of frustration is hard to iterate using etiquette.....Really, it can be a turn off for many, but open mindedness and freedom of expression in a satire kinda way should always be tolerated.....To think that Eureka could be so much more if more people cared about maintaining.......And understanding......Zany stuff happens, but all too often, people go their separate ways without confirmation of fact......
For example, you are in the crowd watching a game between two teams...Home whites, visiting blacks...You say the black guy or the white guy in reference to the game........All of a sudden, a paranoid, eaves dropping sensitive concerned racist opponent takes on the impression you are a racist, talking only white or black......Stuff ya just can't make up.
Falsely Arrested, and no, comments by HOJ are always on 'the issues'.......Fred, teaching HOJ how to be bait.....Lol.
How many have nots simply chose having not? Quite a many.....Ya gotta work in order to get ahead, and even though everyone has a right to do as they please regarding the outcome of their created predicaments, if a job is their to be taken that gets ya closer to your goals, then ya can't complain about being jobless, homeless......Find a way to live without being a burden, or be considered a burden.......Of course, those who can't "medically fend" are given extra attention, but who does the proof checking on "medical intervention?"
HOJ HOJ HOJ HOJ.Rock on HOJ.
