Ashbach Fights Back

I've been fairly impressed with the local Right Wing's newest up and comer, Jonathan Ashbach, who has yet another guest commentary in the Eureka Reporter this morning. It's not often you see younger folk like him willing to publicly espouse non- politically correct views.

He sure seems to have gained the attention of the local Left, judging by the letters sent in to the Reporter in response to his commentaries: Here's the one he was responding to today. Here's another, and yet another.

I'll have to say his first two pieces, here... and here, seemed pretty much along the lines of him setting himself up as the new local right wing mouthpiece. Heck, maybe even this last piece is, but I don't mind, probably because I agree with him.

Good to see at least one young fellow willing to come out publicly against the grain of political correctness, but it's still of concern to me what seems to be his blind loyalty to the Right. I can't help but wonder what he'd be saying, for instance, if it was a Democrat that led us into the Iraq invasion?

Still, we'll keep an eye on him. Maybe with a few more years he'll start thinking more along libertarian lines.

Mitch Trachtenberg, Trinidad: "...there will always be people who are willing to defend any point of view in exchange for corporate grant money."
Question: Where does the grant money come from that supports the hypotheses of the global warming alarmists?
Answer: Various government agencies and NGOs who stand to benefit from increased political power.
Q. Which side in the debate is trying to silence their opponents with threats?
A. The global warmistas. http://ff.org/centers/csspp/pdf/20061212_monckton.pdf

His commentary on Iraq is like a Stephen Colbert skit. It would make great satire, but apparently he's serious.

Fred, what part of the second letter do you agree with?

10:44 asks, "what part of the second letter do you agree with?".

I don't believe I said I agree with the second letter. I'm one of those that was opposed to attacking Iraq in the first place.

As far as the first letter, I don't get involved in the abortion issue. It's a no win discussion no matter what side you're on.

I feel sorry for people like Jonathan. He can't let himself think after all the Rhetoric he has absorbed from the likes of Faux News, Rush and Billy O.

Just ask the people of Lohachara island what they think about the 'Myth' of global warming.

After checking in at junkscience.com I was initially thinking I couldn't trust anything on the website after seeing *they* don't believe in global warming!

Then I talked to someone I trust (sorry he's probably a Republican) he was saying that Mars is also experiencing global waming-and obviously there are no SUVs on Mars. These climate changes go in cycles-maybe we'll have a chance to see how things turn out and maybe *things* will lead to our extinction!

But junkscience or not-what would be so bad about alternative fuels and cost effective technologies so that everyone had a crack at transportation, food, decent housing?

Cheaper fuels like ethanol are allowed the same price structure as fossil fuels-nuclear power is allowed to set their own rate at the same price as oil and gas. Call/write your congressman-these guys are making a killing! And the price of gas/heating fuel isn't going to drop without competition.

"Mars is also experiencing global waming-and obviously there are no SUVs on Mars.".

Yes. I understand the polar caps on Mars are shrinking a bit. I believe that came from NASA.

"maybe we'll have a chance to see how things turn out and maybe *things* will lead to our extinction!".

I don't think "we", as in any of us reading this blog will be around to know who's right. I understand they're suggesting some small temperature rise over a period of a 100 years or so. We'll most certainly have passed on by then.

You have to wonder about, say, thirty years from now: Thirty years from now will people be raising a ruckus about global cooling? Will they remember back to the earlier 2000s when global warming was all the rage?

Too many of us now forget all the talk about the new ice age back in the '70s. I suspect thirty years from now history will repeat itself.

Dercoadus wrote, "He can't let himself think after all the Rhetoric he has absorbed from the likes of Faux News, Rush and Billy O.".

A word of warning there, my friend: Such things can also be said of those on the Left that focus on the Left wing mantras day in and out. That works both ways.

Fred is a complete idiot. His odd love (lust?) for the neo-Nazi Mr.Ashbach is touching, in more ways than one I'm sure. Fred, this is why your blog is the joke it is. You don't have a clue, do you?

I agree with you Fred. But Jonny isn't a Leftie. I was commenting on his editorial. I'll say the same to anyone that starts with an agenda and then picks and choses facts to bolster it. Right or Left.

Yep, many people have an agenda, or a cause if you will. If you're on one side or another you always choose facts that support your cause.

I'm sure he's heard, just as we all have, all the hysteria about global warming. Seems to me this last piece was his rebuttal. Simple as that.

He wasn't trying to write a thesis on the different theories of climatic change.

I'd like to have him explain in more detail how the civil war in Iraq is similar to the Whiskey Rebellion.

Yes, we sandwiched it in between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of The Jedi. Same genre, same "science". Lucas is the better producer and more believable.

Oh come on now, Carol; I've seen a number of commentaries that came out debunking Gore's movie. It probably wouldn't be too hard to find a few of them.

As an aside, just got this commentary in an e-mail this morning from the Independent Institute.

Nice comment Carol; now if you would only apply it to yourself.

Fred, you can't be that dumb! Are you saying you think Climate Change is a sham? (But you believe Bush's big lies about 9/11, Iraq, etc......) Fred, in case you didn't know: Jonathan Ashbach is a Nazi sympathizer (he as much as admitted it in one of his Eureka Reporter columns). No wonder General Franco Simmons is in lust with him.
