Endert Vote Looms
Pretty soon we'll see how the Eureka City Council stands on the appointment of Polly Endert to a seat on the council, the vote supposedly taking place tomorrow.
I was surprised to see councildude, Chris Kerrigan, quoted as saying he's optimistic he'll be able to cast a Yes vote for her.
I thought Chris would be a little more mysterious about how he might vote at this point. Of course, it ain't over 'til it's over.

Maybe Chris has finally realized attacking a woman, for no obvious reason except she's not one of them, has a downside. There is no way he can come out of it smelling good. But I have faith. Chris will once again become a three year old, temper tantrums and all, when the Marina Center or new police chief comes before the council.
Fred,
The leaning tree came down last night. Just thought you would like to know.
Wow. Thanks for the heads up. What a coincidence after all these years. Hope nobody was underneath it.
As far as I know, no one was. I am coming up to eureka on friday so am going to take a picture if you want them emailed to you. Well a picture of the stump and blank spot in the sky at least.
I expect some of the rabid Kerrigan haters around here would be very disappointed if he votes for Endert. Maybe he's doing it just to spite you guys.
Chris will be damned if he does, and damned if he doesn't. The tactics are classic and boring.
This so Not News-no one even showed up Tuesday to comment to the City Council (ok like 6 people and 4 were city employees). Nobody will give a shit whether Chris votes Yes-Or-No because the progs couldn't dig anyone up to run IF there had been an election. Go-onwithyerlife.
Fred, I retract the tree comment. It did not come down. Another tree did in fact fall across all 4 lanes of road. Just not that particular one.
It's 4-0 Count on it.
Anon 6:05 - nice retreat!
This is Chris's last term, he probably wants to preserve his legacy as a uniter not a divider.
Or maybe he simply sees Endert as among the best, from his perspective, that will be nominated by Bass and supported by Leonard and Jones.
And Rex has changed jobs. No longer the "Fuel Guy." Now he can run for Chis's seat without being blamed for gas prices.
Doesn't Rex now work at Evergreen Pulp? Oh yeah, that will get him more votes! Maybe he can try to garner the Green Party endorsement? Let me know when he is scheduled to interview with them.
Maybe an all grown up Kris can be the new"decider"
sorry I misspelled Cris, our Dutch name would often be Kris.
