Sonoma County Does Unisex Bathrooms

The Santa Rosa Press- Democrat reports that starting March 1, all public restrooms in the county must be open for use by both sexes. Setting aside the subject of whether government should be involved in bathroom use questions to begin with, I don't like it.

Call me a sissy, but I'm one of those what's known as pee- shy guys who doesn't like the distraction of another person around while I'm taking care of business. It's one thing to have a guy come into the bathroom to interrupt my moment. Another thing entirely to have some ugly old lady walk in and be able to stare at my weenie.

The Willits Burger King bathrooms have been unisex for a while and I don't like using them. The only upside I can think of is maybe it will reduce wait times having another bathroom available for all. The Willits Taco Bell, for instance, used to always have lines waiting for its bathrooms. I'd often just hold off, rather than submit myself to the pressure- no pun intended- of knowing there's a long line outside the door waiting for me to hurry up and be done with my business. Maybe this will help with that?

i think its bad . santa rosa has 282 registered sex offenders . really not bad for its size . clearlake has 87 . thats on megans law list . how many of those will now just sit outside waiting for the proper person to go in then follow them and expose them self or worse .
its almost easy to see if a big ole bad guy follows someone into a womens only bathroom but this is just stoopid allowing anyone in at anytime

Yeah, but they could also just hang outside the bathroom of their choice of sex and do the same thing. Certainly less people might notice with unisex bathrooms,...or would they?

Did you not read the actual article. It specifically says that only singe occupancy bathrooms are affected. IE just a restroom. If someone is banging down the locked door of the occupied single occupancy restroom its going to be pretty obvious...

Yeah, I missed that. Still, single occupancy doesn't stop some ugly old lady from coming in and staring at my weenie.

Staring won't bother you as bad as the giggling and pointing.

Same sort of thing and yet another reason I don't like this.

It's the setting aside of the proper role of govt that I don't like.
Businesses should retain all authority that cncerns their business.
But then, Sonoma is one of the largest sell out counties to the UN, & we've seen a lot of them.
Ever see those fast commuter trains in 3rd world countries that go right through the village? Cloverdale is facilitating that in Calif. Restrooms are a distraction from the main headlines that the media refuses to narrate.

most single occupancy bathrooms can be locked from the inside. if you use one and don't lock it, then that's your fault if someone comes in...
